It’s always funny to me that the public sees one day of red carpet glam and not the 364 other days of Zoom calls, Google Docs, Frame.io uploads, and so much invisible work behind the scenes!!! My friend @nuncreative texted this to me and I immediately screenshot it because I want to remember it forever. Michelle has worked at the heart and center of the photography, film and documentary world for decades. I am so grateful for the amazing people I’ve gotten to meet on this film’s journey and to think about how this experience has enriched my life and capacity for human connection. What started out as a completely terrifying and me stomach ache provoking kind of pain and fear and shame and anxiety about putting my entire life on a screen has turned into one of the most beautiful gifts of my lifetime. I have found my way to vulnerability, mercy, love and deeper compassion. By sharing the most raw version of myself l now realize it allowed others to be real and raw with me too and ultimately that is what life is all about. To documentary films, may we watch them, support them, and let them continue to shape our world and humanity.

Yes, we would’ve loved to win, but we are SO honored to have been nominated.
