Thank you @nursdelaet for animating my logo!

I learned about Nur’s talent from @allanpeters videos featuring him making logo variations for Allan’s own logo. I was stunned and had to dig in to this. I’ve been looking for a great way to end my upcoming videos and these wowed me! You’ll be seeing these a lot more!

Let’s fix the Clune Construction logo. What do you think? Did I fix it?
.
This was not only one of our largest projects last year, but one of our proudest. Clune reached out to Peters Design Co with a logotype that was in desperate need of a brand mark. They’ve grown into a multi billon dollar brand and their brand identity needed to mature both visually and strategically. Our goal was to keep all of the existing brand equity in the color and typography, and to refine and amplify every detail. The new brand mark combines a C for Clune and a forward facing arrow for their tagline “In Pursuit of Your Perfect Project”. The two shapes nest together both in visual harmony and in geometric perfection. The result is a mark that’s equal parts simple, memorable and unique.

The amazing animation at the end of the reel was a collaboration between myself and @nursdelaet . I sent Nur an 80 frame story board that included nearly the entire contents of the brand manual and asked him if he could create a lovely 1 minute animation. The guy doesn’t miss. What a talented partner!

One of the most difficult things as a graphic designer is to create your own logo. You are your harshest critic. Here’s how I came up with my logo design. I’ve had this logo now for over a decade and I don’t plan on changing it anytime soon. I created it to stand the test of time. This is a video that I have shared before however, I rebuilt the back end of it and added in a ton more work as well as a new animation by @nursdelaet - I hope you enjoy it and find it helpful.

Today I’m sharing three videos. The first is by @pierrezoller.design - it’s all about creating a logo and Adobe Illustrator. The second is about creating a personal brand. The third video is by logo animation expert @nursdelaet - Please go and give Pierre and Nur a follow. They are both amazing creators.

Doing everything yourself isn't always the best idea.

Creating your logo and brand identity is one thing... but knowing when you need someone else to bring it to life is another.

For my logo animation, I decided to team up with Nur, a talented motion designer I met on Instagram (thanks in part to the videos of @allanpeters , whose work I also really like) to create what I had in mind but couldn't quite execute myself. You can have a very clear vision of your brand's world without necessarily being the best person to make it move.

Based on my brief (you always need one), he managed to capture exactly what I wanted to talk about in just a few seconds of animation: the creative process and the journey from idea to reality, keep the technical with the human, all while maintaining true simplicity and clean style.

What do you think?

Thanks, Nur, for bringing it all to life!
I don't have a huge reach or many followers yet, but you should definitely check out his work!
