"In recent years, I have been searching for ways to help one of our most vulnerable populations—children—to feel less frightened when they visit the doctor or hospital. As a man of color, I wanted to lead by example for other kids who look like me. I aimed to create a platform that makes health topics easy to understand and fun so kids of all backgrounds can feel more comfortable and confident in healthcare settings. I teamed up with providers in and out of healthcare who are passionate about helping children. Together, we collaborated to create a kids’ show on YouTube with the mission of helping as many kids as possible to learn and be less fearful"

Would like to thank everyone for the love and support in our new project @nursedeon! It’s always been a goal of mine to bring more filming to Tampa! Every episode in season 1 was filmed on location in the Tampa Bay Area. Thank you to @vu.network , @zootampa , @cmaquarium , @glazerchildrensmuseum , and @blindtigercoffeeroasters for our filming locations! Fun fact, 5 Alonso High School Alumni are attached to this project!

We had big dreams when we started Coping Creative, but never imagined that this journey would align us with other people’s bigger dreams and bring us along for the ride! ❤️

Working along the bedside together for 10 years, Leslie and Deon shared the same passions for improving the pediatric healthcare experience for kids. Deon’s respect and admiration for the Child Life field runs deep and the result of that has been a collaborative relationship that has impacted many children and families over the years. 💙

Deon has always embodied the concept of caring for the child and family as a whole. His bedside manner is unmatched. His ability to make connections with children is admirable. His passion to change healthcare experiences for kids on a global scale has always driven him to succeed. 💛

So when Deon shared the idea that he wanted to develop a children’s show related to pediatric health topics, we weren’t surprised! And when he invited us to be a part of that journey, we were honored. ❤️

We are so proud of you, Nurse Deon!

Thank you for valuing the role of child life specialists. Thank you for letting us be a part of something so impactful. Thank you for all you do for the pediatric healthcare community!

We can’t wait to see what the future holds for Nurse Deon. We know it’s gonna be great! ❤️💙💛

If you haven’t checked out the show yet on Youtube, do it!

Saturday morning coffee, dirt, and cold water with some legends. 🌊

What a wonderful way to spend a morning. Just being outside doing dangerous things with dangerous people…then come home to a big hug from your baby boy. Life is good. ☕️

Some news outlets have talked about the possibility of a polar vortex in the next few weeks - which means we could be in for some incredible ice formations!

Send us a message or visit the link in bio to join on an upcoming adventure into the icy wonders of upstate New York.
