My Cozy Canines design was a true collab. I asked the folks on my newsletter list to send me pictures of their dogs wearing clothes and, woof, they delivered! This design would not exist if it were not for y’all. Thank you!

I wanted to show my thanks to everyone whose pet made it into this design so I sent them all a little gift and thought I’d share these videos they took the time to make, so that you can get to know these cute pups a little bit better and know how much joy these pets bring to their human companions. I definitely fell in love with every dog, I know their names and now you know some of them, too 🐶

Split Decision Hat is a modular DK design in my portfolio. It is a lot of fun to plan out the colors and equally fun to knit. It looks great in tonal, variegated and self-striping yarn and the modular construction goes quickly. The pattern has 5 circumferences and 2 height options. The taller height can be folded or worn slouchy, and the shorter height fits more like a beanie. The pattern includes a schematic and blank coloring page, too.

Here are a few versions I’ve made and some from other makers, too. Check out the project hashtag #SplitDecisionHat for even more versions!

Have you been admiring scrappy versions of my new design, Split Decision Hat, but thinking “I’m not sure if I have dk yarn scraps, but I have single skeins of dk yarn!”? I’ve got you covered. This hat design can be made out of a single skein of dk weight yarn! Here are 2 cool tester versions that used just one color and have very different results. Becca (@nutmegknitter) created a great version using a green tonal skein. The difference in direction of knitting shows up where the 2 sides meet. Rebecca (@krakengoddess), on the other hand, used a wildly variegated skein of yarn she had that was waiting for the perfect project- dare I say she found it with this pattern? The changes in direction and stitch count created some great pooling that makes this project one of a kind. Thanks to both Becca and Rebecca for test knitting for me and making this design your own by choosing unique colors! The intro sale is still going on by the way. “20PERCENT” gets you — you guessed it— 20% off through May 9, 2021, 11:59 PM MDT. This code works on Ravelry and Payhip, and actually applies to any of my hat and hood designs! Newsletter subscribers: you’ve got a special code also, remember to check your email as that one goes through May 4 for this hat only! I hope you’re as inspired by all the versions of this hat as I am. #shanalines_designs #SplitDecisionHat #DKyarn #GarterStitch #GarterStitchLove
