POV: you moved to Boston and finally found your people. 🤎

One year ago, this started with one simple idea: making it easier for women + nonbinary people to make real friendships in Boston.

Now there are hundreds of amigas, countless cafecitos, nights out, day trips, walks, celebrations, and so many “I came alone” stories that ended in new friendships.

And somehow… we’re already turning ONE and celebrating on October 17. 🥹

If you’ve been looking for your people in Boston, this is your sign to come hang with us.

Come alone. Leave with amigas. 🤎

Follow @amigasenboston for upcoming events + community.

🏆 ONE RACE. TWO VICTORIES. ONE POWERFUL MESSAGE FOR CHELSEA. 🏆
In one unforgettable run, Nya Weems won the 2026 Women’s Open Division and established a new Chelsea Road Race women’s course record of 19:41—becoming the fastest woman ever to complete our course.
Nya’s record celebrates extraordinary speed, discipline and determination. But the meaning of this moment reaches far beyond the finish line.
To every girl and woman in Chelsea: power is not measured by the clock alone. Your victory may be running your first mile, returning after a setback or simply believing that you are capable of more.
Records are meant to be rewritten. Barriers are meant to be broken. Every starting line is an invitation to discover the strength already living within you.
Nya raised the standard—and we hope her achievement raises the dreams of women and girls throughout Chelsea.
Chelsea Recreation & Cultural Affairs and the Chelsea Road Race proudly congratulate Nya Weems—our 2026 Women’s Open Division Champion and the new women’s course record holder.
May your victory inspire many others to begin. 🧡🔥

🏆 CELEBRATING OUR 2026 WOMEN’S OVERALL PODIUM 🏆
A new champion rose on the streets of Chelsea.
Representing La Corsa Club, Nya Weems completed the 2026 United in Ability Chelsea Road Race in an outstanding 19:41, averaging 6:17 per mile and becoming our Women’s Overall Champion.
Nya finished 13th overall and first among 344 women, establishing a new women’s course record—an extraordinary accomplishment reflecting her discipline and determination.
We proudly celebrate our complete women’s podium:
🥇 Nya Weems — 19:41 | New Course Record
🥈 Bianca Macedo — 19:53
🥉 Jojo Emerson — 21:29
In the days leading up to the race, Bianca, representing La Corsa Club, shared that she had been training with one goal: to become our champion. Despite facing personal challenges, she showed up, competed courageously and finished only 12 seconds behind the winning time. Her perseverance reminds us that being a champion is not defined only by a finishing position, but also by having the courage to reach the starting line when the journey has not been easy.
Jojo completed our podium with a powerful 21:29 finish, earning her place among Chelsea’s 2026 champions.
Our champions crossed a special winners’ break tape presented by Gonnella Law, an official sponsor of the 2026 United in Ability Chelsea Road Race. The tape was held by Audrey and Selma, co-founders of Launch Boston and our Official Community Experience Partner, making these championship finishes even more meaningful.
Nya was also honored with a timepiece donated by Chelsea Clock—an iconic Chelsea institution whose craftsmanship carries the history and spirit of our city. It was a lasting piece of Chelsea presented in recognition of a historic victory.
Carter Park CrossFit also provided complimentary gym memberships to our champions, supporting their continued strength, health and pursuit of excellence beyond the finish line.
On behalf of the City of Chelsea and the Chelsea Road Race community, congratulations! Chelsea celebrates you, honors you and proudly welcomes you into our Community of Champions. 🏆❤️
