I spent the whole October doing some changes in the bathroom and kitchen. It kicked my ass but there’s just something about finishing a project. The last major ones were around the pandemic. Being exposed to a lot of European designs lately really gave me a new kind of creative itch.

Thanks to @jyra for letting me go crazy with these ideas and meeting me halfway with the palette. I’m sure she can take better pictures and make a better post

Morning, noon, and night seem to mush together in a very confusing order. My sense of time contracts and expands and it feels like I’ve been just floating in either a dream or in memories.

You’d dread the sunrises, you’d dread the sunsets. You’d dread the sun’s every position the whole day. And then you’d equally dread the silence and darkness it brings alongside of its absence.

I have a weird tinkering with the idea of death lately, something that was seemingly oblivious to me before. For maybe I have evaded it my whole life. It is commonly said that it is the dead the has left us. But what if since we, the living, are continuously flowing with the stream of time, that it is us who have left them behind stuck in the past? Well, think about it. The saying goes “only the dead stay young”, not the other way around. This saddens me, a lot. As if death is not terrible enough.

As a popular tv line said “What is dead may never die”. That might equally counter the argument, swinging the pendulum back to the center. The day you actually die is the last day when your name was ever mentioned, your memories remembered.

If the Catholics got their beliefs right, 40th day is when the soul find its refuge. It might be a bit too selfish for me to wish for your soul to just linger around the house and your presence still felt as today is the 40th day since. The sky is painted orange, excruciatingly beautifully so.

Still grieving the loss of our beloved Mr. P. 🙏🏻🧡
And really not knowing how to navigate these emotions. Stunned and speechless, It’s a learning process I still struggle to comprehend. Will the days get better?

Porto Ramos, our safe haven, will never be the same, but you will forever live on in our hearts. Thank you for making our home such a special place. You were the absolute best “feature” and addition to every corner. We miss you terribly it breaks my heart just thinking you won’t be in the next room.

You truly made it a real home.

This is that one post I have been dreading to write about but with the heaviest of hearts I am afraid I’ve got no choice or I’ll go insane.

In the gloomy yet peaceful morning of Thursday, January 18th 2024, our most beloved handsome and funny kitty Nyamap has passed. He was known as Mr P to most people he met, and maybe Mr President to his very small following on the internet. Also “Boss Chonk” as @catsdoingthings has dubbed him as.

But as we grieve his passing, we also would like to celebrate his very long, colorful, goofy, chill but playful, fabulous and definitely legendary life.

02/20/2009, the day I picked you up from the shelter, you were wrapped in a used towel in a box like an abandoned child. They just neutered you an hour ago so you were still woozy and bleeding. But you did meow loudly and almost precise to what you wanted to say. I have never dealt with taking care of a small living thing before at this point in my life. On the drive way home, we would look at each other, confused. This was the day that signaled all the great years ahead. The best years of my life yet.

A few months after that, Jyra and I started dating so the two of you basically came into my life at the same time, changing everything forever. You became the third person in this relationship and eventually our flower boy. You became the symbol of our love to each other. You soaked it all up and gave it back tenfolds. When Jy and I started our lives together at one place, each and every night at home you were there, right in the middle of us.

All the celebrations of tiny wins and achievements, you were there to share with us. And if a day was not as good you were also there just to effortlessly make it better.

I will forever be grateful…
