*Lengthy post ahead, sorry but it’s about our family business.

Well today is Phase 4 for NYC. For those who don’t know, our @slopefitness and every other fitness facility in the state has been taken out of Phase 4. There is no Phase 5. So what does that mean for all of our small businesses? We are the only industry (besides movie theaters and amusement parks) that has been given absolutely NO guidance or tentative timeline. It’s not like @nygovcuomo said, oh your businesses will get additional funding to help survive. He hasn’t mentioned us ONCE since he threw us the devastating blow saying we were all shut INDEFINITELY. That is thousands of small businesses like ours across NYS!

To be honest, some days it’s really hard to stay optimistic. I have been struggling with my own mental health well before COVID. But this indefinite closure of our business, and what my father has poured his life into, has been pretty traumatic to deal with.

A slight silver lining in all of this is the outdoor opportunity we have been given by our landlord. Many gyms and studios (especially in NYC) do not have a private outdoor space to try to bring in a little money. So we are grateful to Nick for allowing us to use the roof 🙌

It has been a little over a week now since we started Rooftop fitness classes, and reconnecting with some of our members (a very small amount of our total membership) has been one of the few things that’s given me hope with this situation. Another has been seeing members, friends and strangers donate to our @customink Fundraiser to help save our family business. While all of this will not even cover our rent, any $ you can give (even for a shirt), will help keep us going a little longer. If you can, please share with your friends, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart! 🙏 Link to campaign is in my bio.

No matter what, Slope Fitness is STILL a family thing! 💪💙

2023… our year in review. In the winter of ‘22, me and @nybd____ and @themikemorelli traveled to San Fran to shoot the video for I GOT A BUTCHER KNIFE with the legendary @mars was the first piece of content I rolled out this year, which turned out crazy af and has been referred to as “weapons grade cringe” by some. I’ll take that. 😀 🔪 🩸 link in bio
