“Under Bryant Park” The MTA Arts for Transit by Samm Kunce

The passageway between the 7 train and the B, D, F and V trains has a nature inspired installation (created in 2002) of mosaic tile root systems made of glass, stone and marble referencing complex urban and natural systems. While roots underground provide water and nutrients to life, literature feeds our souls. The tunnel provides literary quotes from James Joyce, Ovid, Carl Jung and Jack & Jill nursery rhyme.,

Reposted from the lovely @anntarantino
Encompassing 12,000 sq. ft. across 23 sites in Downtown Brooklyn, “Terrain Park” commissioned by the NYC DOT Art Program and the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, invites viewers to connect more deeply to the landscape within an urban context by exploring a landscape of topography lines.

It remains on view in downtown Brooklyn through spring 2024. I hope you’ll have a chance to experience it for yourself.

It was a joy to work on this project with Ann, Kim, Ramon, Jon, and the whole team of volunteers!

Repost from @ifmovie
No, I didn’t get to meet John Krasinski or Ryan Reynolds unfortunately but I did get to work for the awesome team @paramountpics ! We pasted up these hand-painted characters from the new movie IF, and drew a hopscotch to encourage busy New Yorkers to connect with their inner child 💜 A perfect project for my team 😇 special thanks to @daouda_ndiaye_233.
Catch IF in theaters May 17!!!
