We welcome NC local Joe Pellegrino to the First Cut filmmaker family with Trevor Lies!

Synopsis

The bizarre tale of a young boy and his puritanical family who must grapple with the morality and consequences of deceit.

Director Biography - Joe Pellegrino

Based in North Carolina, @nymphalfilm found a natural draw to film after a lifetime of related creative pursuits such as music, photography and writing led to an enthusiasm for marrying them into one medium. Pellegrino cut his teeth in the Asheville, NC indie film scene; and creates with an offbeat, existential voice informed by neurodivergence in the bleak, rural Southeast U.S. environment he grew up in.

Watch the trailer here and come to The First Cut Horror Film Festival 2026 on October 10th to see it in full! There’s only 2 weeks left to submit your movie!
