Who says mental wellness has to be a quiet conversation? Sometimes, it sounds like thousands of people singing at the top of their voices, laughing, screaming, and simply enjoying the moment! 💚

At the Creative Wellness Social Night at the NYSC Camp, FCT Abuja, we had a call-and-response singing session that turned the entire venue into one big celebration of joy, connection, and positive energy.

One call. Thousands of responses. Endless excitement!

The energy was contagious. The smiles were real. The atmosphere was electric.

Last Saturday, I STORMED the Batch C 1 NYSC @insidenysclagos Camp Party at Iyana Ipaja on @jagermeisternigeria DUTY!

That fateful day, I was running on NOTHING BUT RESERVE ENERGY, RAW TALENT AND THE AUDACITY OF A MAN WHO HAS NEVER LEARNED HOW TO BE NORMAL. 😂😝😈💪

I HADN’T EATEN ALL DAY!
MY BODY WAS SUBMITTING RESIGNATION LETTERS, BUT MY SPIRIT HAD ALREADY SIGNED A PERFORMANCE CONTRACT! 😭

And did I give them a show?
BABYYYYYYY, I DIDN’T COME TO CAMP TO TAKE ATTENDANCE.
I CAME TO TAKE OVER THE ENTIRE ORIENTATION EXPERIENCE! 💃🏽⚡️

You’d wish someone had told you this before the end of your NYSC service year 📌👀💯👇
1. Time flies, so make the best use of the 1 year.👇
2. ⁠During your NYSC, Network, freelance, gather experiences & connections. 📌
3. ⁠”Volunteer & create opportunities, before opportunities present themselves.👇
4. ⁠Figure out ‘life after NYSC’ before it ends, do you want to continue in your PPA?, start a business?, graduate trainee program?, internships? et.c..start sending out applications 6 months before your service year ends.‼️
5. ⁠Use your Alawee & payments in NYSC to either start a business?, learn a trade, apply for & fund your masters? or to apply for a scholarship?.👇
6. ⁠Be of value, be it at your PPA or workplace. Make your efforts visible & presence felt, so not easily dismissed at the end (if you want to be retained or not).👇
7. ⁠You can get a recommendation or reference letter (for applications or scholarships), from your PPA/ workplace, especially if you did your job excellently. 👈💯
8. ⁠Enroll in an online course & finish it during the remaining months of your NYSC. 💯
9. ⁠Apply for that remote internship, volunteer for that organization you love & put in the work!. 💯
10. ⁠Update your CV, work/leadership experiences, CDS roles, volunteer roles et.Cetera, before the end of your NYSC.👇
11. ⁠Have a good digital/Online footprint, don’t go around insulting people on comment sections & watch the things you post.👇
12. ⁠A Corper must have a LinkedIn page. Create one if you don’t have, employers & work connections take notes. 👀👇
13. ⁠Budget & plan ‘what’s next after NYSC’ before alawee ends. Want to move states? or remain where posted?.👇
14. In Final Clearance, ensure your monthly clearance forms are all signed by your LGI and your PPA head before the end of NYSC.👇

THE CREATIVE WELLNESS SOCIAL NIGHT | NYSC CAMP, FCT ABUJA

What happens when you bring creativity, talent, laughter, healthy competition, and opportunity into one space? You get a night to remember! 💚🔥

The venue was in constant uproar as over 4,000 corps members laughed, screamed, cheered for their favourite contestants, and experienced the power of creative expression at The Creative Wellness Social Night at the NYSC Camp, FCT Abuja.

It was more than entertainment. It was a celebration of talent, connection, mental wellness, and opportunity.

Out of the thousands in attendance, we selected 12 contestants to compete through different forms of creative expression, including spoken word, dance, songs, creative instrument performances, and live stage expressions.

One winner emerged! 🏆

The winner received a cash prize, with additional rewards to follow immediately after camp.

But the night was not just about the stage. We also opened doors to opportunities beyond the camp experience:

🎓 400 corps members for the International Scholarship Programme.

💼 600 corps members for the Employment Network.

Because at Terapo, we believe that creativity should do more than entertain. It should create connections, build confidence, support mental wellness, and open doors to meaningful opportunities.

The cheers were unforgettable. The talent was undeniable. The opportunities were real.

It was a night to rewind, relive, and remember!

A huge thank you to every corps member who showed up, every contestant who dared to express themselves, and everyone who contributed to making this experience possible.

This is what happens when we make mental wellness engaging, experiential, and part of everyday culture.

We are building more than events. We are building a movement where creativity meets wellness, and talent meets opportunity.

I haven't forgotten this experience.

The month of September was indeed amazing.
The day two of the National training in Abuja by Kimpact Development Initiative which was held 8th and 9th September, alongside Presidents and Secretaries of the 36 states in Nigeria, was all about teamwork.

As the President of the NYSC-KDI Civic and Voters Education CDS Imo State, I ensure that the corps members in my CDS are saddled with taking civic and voter education to the masses in our communities, and this training prepared me to do the same for my members ahead of the 2027 elections, so citizens can understand and exercise their rights.

We were grouped according to our various zones to work on projects and discussions aimed at promoting civic responsibilities better in our communities. It was amazing watching ideas flow as we brainstormed together, each person bringing something different to the table.

We had rich sessions that pushed us to think deeper about our roles as civic leaders. Then we were taught practical ways to apply everything we had learnt once we returned to our various states.

The evening came with our cultural attire, and we celebrated ourselves and our unity in diversity. Seeing everyone dressed in the beauty of their different cultures, all gathered as one, was a moment I will not forget.

This experience taught me that leadership is not a solo journey. It taught me that real change happens when diverse minds come together with one goal. It taught me that civic responsibility is not just a topic we discuss, it is something we are called to live out daily, wherever we find ourselves.

I'm grateful to KDI, NYSC and Imo State for this opportunity.

To everyone reading this, just keep moving.

Police Rescue 20 Abducted NYSC Prospective Corps Members, Hunt Suspects

The Nigeria Police Force, in collaboration with sister security agencies, has rescued 20 prospective National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members abducted in Imo State.

The victims were rescued at about 4:28 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, at Amakohia Ubi Village, following sustained and coordinated search-and-rescue operations.

The prospective corps members were abducted on October 1, prompting security agencies to intensify efforts to locate them and secure their safe release.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, the Police attributed the successful rescue to sustained coordination and collaboration among the security agencies involved in the operation.

Following their rescue, the victims were taken for medical examination and provided with necessary medical attention as part of the post-rescue process.

The Force said efforts were ongoing to apprehend the perpetrators, stressing that security agencies had intensified operations to bring those responsible to justice.

“Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the suspects responsible for the abduction and bring them to justice,” the Police said.

The Force commended members of the public for their cooperation and support, while reaffirming its commitment to protecting lives and property and responding promptly to threats to public safety.

Exactly one year ago today, i graduated from the University.Today, i officially became a NYSC corps member. 🎓🇳🇬

I sincerely appreciate my parents, especially my father, for his unwavering psychological support, which kept me moving and my mother for her constant prayers, love and encouragement.May Allah continue to bless you both.My siblings, family members, course mates and other well-wishers are also worth appreciating.Thank you very much for all your support.I am equally grateful to the teachers who contributed to my journey and my university lecturers I also want to commend the NYSC Sokoto State team.Although i was initially posted to Maiduguri, the amazing staff of NYSC Sokoto State made it possible for me to serve my country in my home state through immediate redeployment on disability grounds.I sincerely appreciate their understanding, support and commitment to inclusion and I also want to acknowledge first bank officials sent to sokoto camp for acknowledging my disability I’m very much grateful for the warm hospitality.

As an advocate for persons with disabilities, i believe advocacy is not only about calling for change and inclusion it is also about recognising and appreciating the people and institutions that are already making the world a better and more inclusive place.
