The best day of the year is almost here- this Saturday! 🎃 At Horsefeathers, we go all out for the @tarrytownhalloweenparade, and this year is no exception. We’re thrilled to welcome @nyvinylbrew back to spin records out front before and after the parade. We hope to see you there- and we hope you aren’t afraid of clowns. 🤡 The parade steps off at 5 PM from Patriots Park A little advice: If you can avoid driving into town, please do! Between the road closures, limited parking, and thousands of visitors, we strongly recommend taking Metro-North to Tarrytown and walking from the station. See you Saturday! 🎃

In my first year of high school after 2 or 3 years of teaching myself how to play on a second/third hand starter kit, I saved up enough money to buy myself a durable brand new shiny set of drums. I’ve been playing this Tama Rockstar kit for 25 years now. They’ve been all over the country to play in countless basements, bedrooms, living rooms, show spaces, shitty dive bars, porches, sidewalks, streets, and outdoor stages in the middle of the woods near Bilgers Rocks. They’ve been repositioned, spray painted, reupholstered, and re-tuned, and still sound just as good and just as loud as this punk bitch needs them to be. They accompanied me in many bands and can be heard on so many recordings. A quarter century of memories and cathartic moments. I’ll never have a need or have had the urge to own another set of drums. I love them so much. Here’s a handful of recent memories and moments featuring these sacred cylinders. Thanks to all the friends past and present, living and passed, who have played in bands with me and made music together. Grateful to still be playing and grateful that I haven’t totally ruined, destroyed, or lost these drums along this journey 💥🥁💥

We did it! We had punk rock at the library! One last appreciation post, for all of you who came out to @dobbsferrypubliclibrary and made this past Saturday’s @cultclassicmovienight 10 Year Anniversary so special🤘See for yourself ➡️ as the best @officialmisfits cover band going, @runjackierunband, headlined the memorable evening, joined by thumping melodic punk from Queens’ @deadonafriday, feisty first timers @fiendsofrocknroll & their stellar 10 year old prodigy drummer X-Man (with Dad on guitar), the legendary one-man-band-like-no-other @bobcatonemanband, vintage punk fashion from @citizensuzie, of course a cult classic screening of Marilyn Monroe’s final film The Misfits (1961) with fun trivia & giveaways, and even a surprise “Cult Classic Movie Night” song 🥹 created special for the event by the uber-talented @polishjohnmusic 🫡 There was collective Guliani’ing of sprayed-on product all around, shaking to the oldies 🕺🏼 💃🏻 💀 🎵🤣 All in all, the best ghoul’s night out this fiend could ask for. Yoooo!!! What a ripper! Sure, we're biased, but this was easily our favorite event in the area since we moved up over a decade ago. Killer tunes, sick venue, and the best vibes from all the homies who came out... Big ups to all of the talented artists that rocked the stage on Saturday. From the face-melting, soulful psych of @lovehoneymusic, to the story-telling dark jams of @thebumpmusic, to the spot-on horror punk covers of @runjackierunband, to the mesmerizing, dance-inducing instrumentals of @sci_flies, we were all treated to one kickass party! Whether it was head nodding or full-on grinding, folks couldn't stop moving the entire night. And how about those visuals?! Thank you, thank you everyone who came out and shared their evenings with us. Thank you to the entire staff of @thegrandcroton for graciously hosting our debauchery (special shout outs to Cara and Ben for keeping things running so smoothly). Thank you @modified.magic for all of your hard work leading up to the night, blessing us with the new H2H mascot, flyers, and all the promotional help. Here's to a quick recovery! Thank you to all our local buds who spread the word and hung up flyers. We love you guys! One more shout out to the musicians who graced the stage. We can't wait to see you all again - whether it be in the shop or another external event. We're already working on our BIG Halloween party that will feature even more bands and vids. Keep an eye out for a formal announcement soon. If y'all promise to keep coming out, we'll keep hosting. These things take a literal village.
