Celebrating the launch of NZ Design Week 2027 last night at Lexus.

This year’s theme is Restore and Reimagine. It challenges us to consider how design can create more value from the resources and knowledge we already have.

New Zealand has traditionally relied on primary industries and tourism for export growth, and design represents another significant economic opportunity. Our creativity can travel globally creating commercial opportunities without relying on natural resources.

Congratulations to Jen Jones and the New Zealand Design Week team for building a platform that showcases our creative talent and contributes to economic growth.

Thanks also to Lexus New Zealand for hosting last night’s launch and committing to another three years of partnership.

With nine days of events, a two-day conference and an impressive international speaker lineup, 2027 is shaping up to be a fantastic programme.

Tickets are now on sale!

THE WAIT IS OVER 🎉

Restore + Reimagine

Jen & the team launched the exciting line up of speakers for 2027 NZ DESIGN WEEK and it didn’t disappoint. Local & international speakers with an inspiring mix of backgrounds & experience to share 🙌

A two day conference with activations & a festival running 1-9 March 2027 👏🏼

I think you’ll agree Jen really is showing us the good stuff!!

A fun night celebrating our amazing design community at the beautiful Lexus showroom.

I didn’t walk out with a car but some hot chips & anthuriums which were my wedding flowers 36 years ago wedding made me pretty happy 😃 💒

Head over and make sure you are following @nzdesignweek 👌🏻

The 2026 NZ Interior Awards finalists and winners will showcase their work during NZ Design Week, 1-9 March 2027, and submissions for the 2027 awards open the days following.

Over recent weeks, NZDW commenced co-design of the future programme with some of Aotearoa's leading designers and architects. The result so far is a format built by the industry it celebrates - and we can’t wait to share how it will evolve.

Submissions will close late May, with presentations and awards night to follow in quick succession.

All details will be announced later this year on our new dedicated NZ Design Awards site (launch date pending). The site will house past entries, recordings of judging presentations, galleries from award nights, news and more.

Back in March, we made a batch of our vanilla kipferl for NZ Design Week as part of our little sponsorship with Greenair + Design for Nature.
Always nice to see Pastels make its way into spaces outside the kitchen.

And honestly, individually wrapped little treats like these make such a nice option for guests, clients, teams or little thank-you gifts.

Turn the sound on. This is what the NZ Interior Awards felt like from the inside: a cathedral full of the country’s best designers, a saxophone on the balcony, and a green aisle the winners walked. Awards nights can be a long stand between announcements - we kept it snappy and delivered a party with trophies attached!
