Point of Presence (2025)
Beeswax with botanical inclusions, gypsum, gypsum-polymer glaze, mixed media.
Recasting the mirror as a spatial instrument, Point of Presence replaces reflective glass with a convex funnel that concentrates attention. Botanical matter preserved in beeswax becomes both pigment and archive; successive gypsum layers and a mineral glaze produce a shoreline patina, where brightness softens into depth. The work extends the studio’s Botanical Alchemy research—merging organic and industrial materials to shift perception from self-image to embodied presence. Available for placement and select client collaborations.

Our newest pieces are built and further formed through a stratification process: multiple layers of hand-applied non-fired glaze that we have been developing, each layer pigmented with earth minerals. Like sediment accumulating over time, this method builds subtle topographies — matte, mineral, tactile. Layer by layer, the surface evolves, some sections calcify, some bloom with subtle sheen and colors. What emerges is less like a finish, and more like an embeded memory.

Still in progress.

We’re in the middle of something new… and we’re not quite ready to show the whole thing just yet.

But these little moments — fragments, glimpses of leaves caught mid-gesture — felt worth sharing. There’s something quietly gothic about it… almost like the carvings you’d find tucked into old stone buildings, part plant, part relic.

It’s still evolving. Still becoming. More soon. Hugs, 🤍 K &J

Small scale sculptures often serve as both sketches and standalone
pieces -functional objects that carry their own weight while hinting at
larger possibilities. These modest experiments become formative
gestures, sometimes evolving into full-scale works. They are not just
studies, but origin points - quiet but potent seeds that inform the next
body of work.

Nocturnal Symphony I
A 7-foot chandelier sculpture made of welded steel, layered by hand with plaster and painted in oil. Wire armatures branch outward, wrapped in blackened leaves like vines. Each element is shaped to evoke the rhythm of tree shadows and the quiet sounds of night—where material becomes movement, and structure echoes song.

Happy New Moon 🌚

We love the feeling of starting the week with open space—mentally, creatively, materially.

This new moon marks a fresh stretch of studio time. Pieces are shifting, shaping, softening. Some will stay as studies, others might become something more. Either way, we’re in it.

New work is underway, and we’re excited to share the process.

We sometimes use photography to inspire form. This photograph doesn’t just document an object—it reveals a moment. Suspended between motion and stillness, it holds a sculptural suggestion that informs how form might emerge in space. The lens captures the ephemeral; sculpture makes it real.

Small forms as foundation.
We’ve been spending time with these quiet pieces—shaping, testing, listening. They help us understand balance, tension, and material before we move into larger forms.

In a time when discovery can feel rare, we find so much joy in the unexpected—new textures, fresh materials, and the way our hands respond to what’s in front of us.

These small gestures carry bigger ideas. This is where it begins.
