POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Last year, before I even got to camp, I was already overwhelmed. I couldn’t really explain what was going on with me. I just knew I wasn’t okay.
Then I got to camp and started seeing people.

One person, another person, another greeting, another familiar face… and honestly, it just became too much for me.

It wasn’t because I wasn’t happy to see anyone. I was. I loved seeing my people. But I think I was already overwhelmed before I arrived, so having to constantly greet people and interact with so many familiar faces just added to it.

So I started hiding.
I spent almost the entire camp trying to stay away from people because I just needed to breathe.

But this year, I was intentional. I wasn’t there to walk around looking for people or trying to say hello to everyone. My only prayer was, “God, let this camp be profitable for me.”

"Let your words be profitable to me"

And honestly, it was.
Every service I attended, I kept asking God to make it profitable for me, and looking back now, I can confidently say that I was blessed spiritually, physically, and emotionally.

I enjoyed God’s presence, but I also enjoyed people.
For the people I stayed with, everyone I met along the way, every picture we took, every hug I exchanged, every laughter, every “hello”  I am genuinely grateful.

I didn’t have to go around visiting everyone for God to remind me of the gift of people.

Somehow, the people I needed to meet, the conversations I needed to have, the moments I needed to experience, found their way to me.

And at the end of camp, I sat down and remembered my state of mind last year how different I felt this time.

I couldn’t help but burst into tears.
Tears of gratitude.
Tears because I could see how far God has helped me emotionally.
Camp was good for me spiritually, but it was also deeply good for me emotionally. And I am grateful for the gift of people.I’m grateful for healing.

To everyone I saw, everyone I met, everyone I got to say hello to, everyone I hugged, laughed with or took a picture with  thank you.

I do not take any of it for granted.

If a few days of being together with God’s people can feel this beautiful, how beautiful must heaven be.
