'Theater is one of the places where we come together to make sense of the world,' said Judson Jones, Theatre East Artistic Director. 'We sit in the same room, share a story, laugh, grieve, and recognize something of ourselves in one another. At a time when so much feels fractured, that act of coming together feels like a small but essential way of rebuilding.' All five short plays performed back-to-back, every night, making for a unique New York theatrical experience at Court Square Theater. And it's suggested donation only so it's accessible to everyone! Love is made by hand, isn’t it? Vertical Motion Picture — Étude № 04 for @saint_elizabitch & @o_palms Production notes: God do I love the vertical, it really looks like you’ve put someone inside a moving picture frame. This will sound crazy but it feels like my hands, guided by my own affection for my subjects, can perform at a higher technical ability. This is the best roll I’ve ever shot and it’s of my dear friends on their special day. Rewatching this makes my lil heart explode with love and joy and the (fucking) satisfaction of seeing myself get better at something hard!!!! Other than that I take notes on a little notepad every time I shoot like I’m some kind of detective marking clues. 50D, light metered the whole thing. Thought I’d accidentally underexposed the entire roll but somehow I really didn’t. Thank god. Highlands, North Carolina | Spring 2026
