Day 258 of 365.

Today’s captures comes to you from Point Lookout, NY. 🌅

This morning started with paperwork, emails and all that fun stuff. Then I headed to Garden City to pick up a check from a closing I had the other day, and then down to Cedarhurst to finally pick up my new glasses. I lost my old pair off the boat clamming, so I’ve been walking around with my scratched backup pair. 🤦‍♂️

From there, I decided to cross the Atlantic Beach Bridge and head down through Long Beach to meet a friend for a sunset dinner @thebuoybar

And as I walked in, the one and only @thomas_anthony18 from @oaklandsrestaurant was there! Totally random. I went to one of my favorite sunset spots and somehow ended up running into Tommy from my other favorite sunset spot! Life is cool! ☀️

We grabbed a great table right on the pier with a perfect sunset view, had a great meal and enjoyed one of those beautiful late-summer nights on the water.

But sitting there as the chilly air started rolling in, I couldn’t help thinking about how fast summer went.

The last time I was at Buoy Bar with this same friend was back in early May… the beginning of summer. Now somehow, we’re already at the end of it.

Where did the time go?

Every year I say I’m going to figure out how to slow time down, and every year it seems to go even faster.

I think part of the problem is that we’re always looking ahead.

In my world, I’m constantly chasing the next deal, the next closing and the next paycheck. And I know I’m not the only one. We’re always waiting for Friday, the weekend, the vacation, the next milestone or whatever comes next.

But when we’re always looking forward, we can miss what’s happening right in front of us.

Maybe we don’t need to slow time down.

Maybe we just need to stop rushing through it.

Enjoy the dinner. Watch the sunset. Call the friend. Spend time with the people you love. Take the boat out. Put the phone down.

Because one day we’re going to look back and realize the moments we were waiting for were actually the moments we were already living.

Don’t spend today waiting for tomorrow. ❤️🙏

“Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” — Psalm 90:12

Oaklands in Hampton Bays did NOT disappoint! Such a perfect waterside venue. Honored to be able to DOC this one! This bride planned every single detail perfectly and Christine at Oaklands and her Team crushed it! Looking forward to more weddings here and wishing K&Z many many years of happiness and dancing together🤍
