🎓 As the semester wraps up and graduation approaches, we’re celebrating our Biology Senior Awardees! 🎓

🎉 Congratulations to Olivia Bailey, our Program Marshal for Environmental Biology! 🎉

What’s a Program Marshal? This is a distinguished graduating senior who has been selected by the faculty & staff to lead the students in their major into the Commencement ceremony. In biology, we honor as Marshals students who have served our programs and/or the broader community in diverse and meaningful ways (in addition to having strong academic records!). As such, our Program Marshals wonderfully represent both the spirit of scientific inquiry and the dedication to service that is part of Plymouth State’s philosophy.

Olivia Bailey’s many accomplishments at PSU include serving as a Teaching Assistant for Biological Science I and Integrative Biology, conducting research on the effects of contaminants on horseshoe crabs with Dr. Chris Chabot, and accumulating an award-winning record as a #studentathlete on the Women’s Swimming Team. After graduating with her B.S. in Environmental Biology, she’ll next be headed to the University of Virgin Islands to start their Master’s program in Marine and Environmental Science.

Olivia – thank you for the roles you have played in our community! You’ve achieved so much here in the past few years, and we are excited to follow your future career in marine conservation. You’ve made a difference here, and we will miss you in Boyd!

Congratulations seniors!!! 💚🎓

Showcasing our class of 2026 seniors: Jackie Gaigals, Brady Lyons, Liv Bailey, Brendan Lee, and Cory Boisselle! These swimmers have worked so hard in the pool and the classroom over the past few years and we are sad to see them go, but we know they will strive wherever they go next!! 🥹

🎉 A big congrats to Olivia Bailey, who will be headed off to graduate school after she finishes her degree in Environmental Biology this spring! 🎉 Olivia will be starting the Master of Marine and Environmental Science (MMES) program at University of Virgin Islands, studying coral restoration in the lab of Dr. Marilyn Brandt. This is a fantastic match to her interests in marine biodiversity and conservation and she’s excited to start this next phase of her training.

Congrats, Olivia! - we’re all proud of you!
