From Cohort 1 to the professional game — celebrating Obi Ene! 🔥🏉

Obi was part of our first cohort at Yorkshire Rugby Academy, earning legacy number 13. The Leeds-born winger came through Bradford Grammar School and Old Roundhegians RFC, beginning a journey that would see him progress into the professional game.

Obi began his journey into professional rugby with Yorkshire Carnegie before moving across the Pennines to join Sale Sharks. During his time with Sale, he made a real impact, scoring seven tries in 13 appearances, while also gaining valuable experience in the Championship with Doncaster Knights and Caldy on dual-registration. 🏉

Alongside his rugby, Obi studied Accounting and Finance at Newcastle University, continuing to balance his academic ambitions with his development on the pitch. His performances also earned him international recognition after being invited to England U20s camp.

Known for his pace, power and finishing ability, Obi has continued to build an impressive career, taking the next step in his journey with Newcastle Red Bulls. 🚀

From the very first cohort at Yorkshire Rugby Academy to the professional game, Obi is a fantastic example of what can be achieved through talent, constant hard work and dedication.

We’re incredibly proud of your journey so far, Obi, and can’t wait to see what comes next! A true northern success!
