TWK Burns 🥵 Weights 🏋🏻‍♂️ Now available in 10 weights from the extremely thin and quiet Hairline to the very thick and loud Ultra with their corresponding Italics! TWK Burns is a geometric sans-serif typeface inspired by classics of the genre such as Century Gothic and ITC Avant Garde Gothic by Herb Lubalin & Team. The typeface features pure geometric forms with a tall x-height and minimal tapering in the stems. In its boldest weight, the font becomes so bold that it allows strokes to overlap — making it unique and expressive. TWK BURNS RELEASE! 🥵❤️‍🔥 We are pleased to announce the full release of our TWK Burns typeface! The font family is finally complete and now features a total of 22 styles, including 10 Italics, 2 Rotalics and a major update. The character sets have been greatly expanded, Vietnamese is now supported, new variable fonts have been created as well as a burning fire emoji! 🔥 Burns is a geometric sans-serif typeface inspired by classics such as Century Gothic and ITC Avant Garde Gothic. Named after Aaron Burns, who co-founded the ITC type foundry with Herb Lubalin and Edward Rondthaler, it updates the genre with a more contemporary, digital and playful feel. Its design features a tall x-height, minimal tapering in the stems, and pure geometric forms. The heaviest weights hold a few surprises, though: in the Ultra version, the strokes get so thick that they overlap and “clog” the letters, without any optical correction. The result is highly expressive, practically an instant logo generator. The family stays consistent across a wide range of weights, from the extremely thin Hairline to the very thick Ultra, with their corresponding Italics. The Ultra styles are more exaggerated, almost caricatured, with a steeper Italic and more overlap in the accents. Two extra Rotalic styles tilt from left to right and work equally well both stationary and in motion. In total, Burns offers 22 styles, in static and variable fonts, with a comprehensive character set and plenty of letter and numeral graphic alternates. The custom label generator and type tool uses generative design to produce labels based on user-submitted data. The custom variable type has two fonts, extended and condensed, with each character constructed from two perspectives — from inside the grid and outside.
