AD Looking for somewhere to stay but it seems too good to be true? Or has the landlord asked you for a deposit before you’ve even seen the place? Pause. It might be a scam.

Remember:
❌ Fake listings, stolen property photos and demands for upfront deposits can be used to steal money.
🏠 Always view the property in person before paying any money.
☑ Stick to purpose-built student accommodation or well-known letting agents.

To everyone who bought a ticket, laughed with us, cried with us, talked about the show afterwards, told a friend, shared a post, left us a review, or simply believed in our work, thank you❤️‍🔥

What started as an idea became something so much bigger than we could have imagined, with a sold out run and winning an award!🌶️

We’re so unbelievably proud of Our Town Needs a Nando’s and are so grateful to every single person who helped bring it to life.💋

The fringe may be cooling down now, but we are about to turn the heat right up👀

Stay Messy,
Eilidh and Airlie xox

Thank you so much @aaa_edfringe for selecting our show, we are overjoyed to receive this recognition for our first ever production and are incredibly proud of our team behind the show❤️

We are especially proud of the wonderfully talented @obviouslylovely who told Zahidah’s story with an abundance of care, love and understanding.

As an arts organisation, there isn't anything more important than supporting and recognising young, home-grown talent, which is why Outstanding Youth Show is one of our favourite categories. This year's Award went to Our Town Needs a Nando's by @hotmess.productions with a wonderful performance from @obviouslylovely 💖

A huge thanks to everyone who came to the Asian Art Awards 2026 last night at the Edinburgh City Chambers to help us celebrate the achievements of Asian artists from both Scotland and all corners of the globe who were a part of this year's Fringe.

We had so many talented participants, each of whom were more than deserving of an award, and we hope that our judging process will only become more difficult next year as the sheer quality of work produced continues to grow and evolve.

A special shout out to Chris Snow, Head of Artist Services at @edfringe, who presented the awards to our winners.

We'll be uploading details of all the winners here and on our website https://asianartfundscotland.org/

Our reviewer Diana caught up with Lovely from the cast of Our Town Needs a Nando's - here's what she had to say about what the show means to her, coming from an Indian/Sri Lankan background.

Our Town Needs a Nando's, from @hotmess.productions is a funny, painfully familiar look at friendship, sexuality and teenage girlhood in a town that feels far too small, is on at theSpace on the Mile until the 15th of August.

MEET ZAHIDAH☀️💞🥹PLAYED BY LOVELY @obviouslylovely

Grounded, brilliantly clever and relentlessly optimistic. Zahidah is laughter after a good cry, she is sunshine breaking through dark clouds. Despite life’s unimaginable challenges, Zahidah’s unmatched resilience and strength allow her to feel gratitude for the simple things in small town life that the other girls take for granted.

Misinformation about migration rarely spreads by accident.

More often, it is deliberately constructed.

One of its most effective tools is statistics – particularly when numbers are stripped of context and reframed to provoke fear 📈

Our newest article in our migration misinformation series breaking down all things migration statistics in the media and how the language you use can massively impact the associated emotions! 🔎

📣 Calling all bilingual Glaswegians!! Share your story of speaking two languages and living in a country with so much diversity!

We spoke with Lovely and Lucia to hear their experiences of being bilingual in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Lucia, who grew up speaking English and Italian at home, described her bilingual upbringing as overwhelmingly positive, noting that navigating two languages made her “a lot more aware of the words that you use,” while also expanding her academic horizons.

Whereas, Lovely reflected on how, as a child, she sometimes felt compelled to ask her mother to speak English in public – a quiet act of conformity shaped not by linguistic difficulty, but by perceived social expectations.

These experiences challenge the narrative of Glasgow as overwhelmed or divided. Instead, they depict a city where difference is visible, part of daily life, and more often than not, accepted.

💬 Share your story in our comments to showcase the true diversity of the UK’s “asylum capital”
