Els pescadors de la Barceloneta ensenyen a reparar xarxes per mantenir viu un ofici tradicional que forma part de la història del barri. 🌊 Els tallers formen part del programa Xarxa Oberta, organitzat per @oceanographies_collective , i volen apropar aquest ofici gairebé desaparegut a tothom, de la mà dels professionals que encara s'hi dediquen. Els tallers són a la Confraria de Pescadors i són gratuïts, amb inscripció prèvia. Una oportunitat per aprendre, compartir coneixements i contribuir a preservar la memòria marinera de Barcelona. 🌊 Riverberi Festival è ufficialmente iniziato! Ieri abbiamo esplorato il passato, il presente e i possibili futuri della Laguna insieme a @oceanographies_collective e @klara_kofen; mentre con Sara @saraalberani abbiamo approfondito i legami tra rivendicazioni dei lavoratori, impatto ambientale ed ecologia politica. Guidate/i da @barbara_casavecchia e @natasha_ginwala ci siamo lasciate/i trasportare dalle correnti del Mediterraneo e dell’Oceano Indiano, navigando verso porti lontani e nuove prospettive con la performance di @arkakinari. Oggi si continua! 🌱 Tra performance, conversazioni e momenti di ascolto, torniamo a confrontarci su ecologia, attivismo e relazioni tra comunità umane e forme di vita più-che-umane, lasciandoci ispirare da ciò che le acque possono insegnarci. Ci vediamo a Ocean Space dalle 16:30 fino a sera, per continuare a esplorare insieme le voci e i riverberi della Laguna. 💧 . 🌊 Riverberi Festival has officially started! Yesterday we explored the past, present, and possible futures of the Lagoon with Oceanographies and Klara Kofen; while with Sara Alberani we delved into the connections between workers' demands, environmental impact, and political ecology. Guided by Barbara Casavecchia and Natasha Ginwala, we let ourselves be carried away by the currents of the Mediterranean and Indian Oceans, navigating towards distant ports and new perspectives with Arka Kinari's performance. The journey continues today! 🌱 Through performances, conversations, and listening sessions, we return to discuss ecology, activism, and relationships between human communities and more-than-human life forms, letting ourselves be inspired by what the waters can teach us. See you at Ocean Space from 4:30pm until late evening, to continue exploring together the voices and reverberations of the Lagoon. 💧

Tot en català. M’ho vau demanar, jo ho he fet. Petons! festival dedicated to horror, fantasy and science-fiction is one of the largets across europe – this year will be more than 400 movies. The programme takes place at cinemas and cultural spaces including Cinema Prado, Escorxador, Meliá Sitges and Mercat Vell, with parallel activities such as exhibitions, workshops, talks and the famous Zombie Walk. Contemporary art fair once again presents art from the galleries and independent art spaces from around the world: from Latin America to Southeast Asia. This year’s programme includes OFF-SITE, Vortex, Polar & Tropic, performances, workshops and talks. festival dedicated to horror, fantasy and science-fiction is one of the largets across europe – this year will be more than 400 movies. The programme takes place at cinemas and cultural spaces including Cinema Prado, Escorxador, Meliá Sitges and Mercat Vell, with parallel activities such as exhibitions, workshops, talks and the famous Zombie Walk. A side project by our beloved All Those food market brings local food and artisan culture to life through hands-on workshops. This month, you can learn how to make kombucha and sourdough, explore fermentation and wine, cook healthy food and arrange flowers. A project of the a cool couple from Girona with a background in running, hiking and mindfulness makes curated hikes in Pyrenees and Andorra, with nights in mountain refugios, guided meditation walks, spa and film photography. Design festival brings together exhibitions, talks, workshops, concerts and presentations across Barcelona: tours, exhibitions and masterclasses at creative studios, shops and even a cocert on a parking of LCI with Sonar or a lecture at Parròquia de Sant Andreu de Palomar. Riverberi Festival si apre con Oceanographies Collective, che torna in laguna portando un’azione performativa e partecipativa, ispirata dal viaggio da Venezia a Rotterdam dello scorso anno. 🌊 La laguna in bottiglia 🗓️ Venerdì 9 ottobre, 17:00 – 18:00 📍Campo San Lorenzo Usando campioni di acqua con diversi gradi di salinità e materia organica, l’artista Fermín Jiménez Landa creerà una serie di sculture in ghiaccio da posizionare sulla scalinata davanti a Ocean Space. Mentre il ghiaccio si trasforma gradualmente, il pubblico è invitato a partecipare a una breve passeggiata in cui l’artista e Oceanographies Collective presenteranno il progetto attraverso storie e immagini, mettendo in relazione processo artistico con le condizioni ecologiche e materiali delle acque attraversate. 🎟️ La partecipazione è gratuita senza prenotazione. Riverberi Festival opens with Oceanographies Collective, returning to the lagoon with a performative and participatory action inspired by last year's journey from Venice to Rotterdam. 🌊 La laguna in bottiglia 🗓️ Friday, October 9, 5 – 6pm 📍Campo San Lorenzo Using water samples with different levels of salinity and organic matter, artist Fermín Jiménez Landa will create a series of ice sculptures to be placed on the steps in front of Ocean Space. As the ice gradually transforms, the public is invited to join a short walk during which the artist and Oceanographies Collective will present the project through stories and images, connecting the artistic process with the ecological and material conditions of the waters traversed. 🎟️ Free admission, no booking required. Every year I convince myself I know what I’m getting into with the next Trigger book. Every year, I’m wrong. This time, submergence became the method. I spent a year learning from Nuria Bofarull and Irene Solé Quevedo / Oceanographies Collective, and from an extraordinary network of artists, photographers, divers, researchers, marine scientists, writers and thinkers. People photographing underwater, working with seawater, letting water enter the image, thinking with currents, sediments, marine life and underwater light. Photography getting wet, murky, unstable. A little less land, a little more ocean. The book itself became an ocean of sorts: in movement, full of unexpected currents, collisions and connections. Not because it represents the ocean — we’re not quite that ambitiously anti-representational 😉 — but because the ocean started messing with how we think about photography. And I’ve learned a lot. About ocean literacy, climate change, and the limits and possibilities of the photographic image. I’ve never really been a diver or sailor (more the runner’s type). But this submergence has changed something. As wildfires burn, floods rise and climate “disasters” become ever harder to ignore, perhaps we should listen more carefully to what the ocean — and there is only one — has been telling us for a very long time. Down we go. Trigger #7: Ocean, the seventh publication in the Trigger series initiated by FOMU – Museum of Photography Antwerp, is now going to print. Out in November. What happens when photography meets the ocean, not simply as something to photograph, but as a living, shifting world of currents, relations, memory, movement and uncertainty? Guest-edited by Oceanographies Collective (Nuria Bofarull & Irene Solé Quevedo), the book brings together artists, photographers, scientists and writers, moving from deep waters to shores, ports and surface worlds. Four currents — Drift, Turbidity, Trace and Weave — offer different ways through this ocean of images and ideas. For its forthcoming book, TRIGGER — the publication of FOMU – Museum of Photography Antwerp — invites photographers, filmmakers, and visual artists to submit proposals for new or ongoing work engaging with the ocean as a space of relation, circulation, transformation, and imagination. Organizer’s Statement: We welcome proposals by photographers and visual artists whose work engages with the Atlantic, Pacific, or Indian Ocean, including their seas, coastlines, and maritime routes. We are particularly interested in projects that are new, ongoing, incomplete, or unfolding over time, as long as they articulate a clear conceptual and visual direction. Contributions can take many forms, including photography, film, hybrid or expanded visual practices, and experimental approaches to image-making. Rather than conventional documentary formats, we are drawn to practices that treat photography and moving image as practices in flux, open to experimentation, hybridity, alternative processes, and new visual grammars.
