As marine protected area, Tulamben is still struggling with marine waste management. With such a unique marine ecosystem, we, as part of Tulamben itself need to seriously act against it.

Through Ocean Talk, we finally get to know about local community’s conflict against it. How marine litter killed the coral reef ecosystem, decrease in fisheries productivity, and complains from tourist. By properly look after our ocean, we believe that Tulamben will get better as time goes on. Therefore, it is important to share our opinion with one another, and preserve it altogether 💙🌊🪸

Lost fishing gear doesn’t stop fishing.

Nets and lines can continue trapping and killing marine life long after they’re lost. This is ghost fishing. 💔

Don’t look away. Share this, spread awareness, and help keep our oceans free from ghost gear.

This year has given me so many beautiful, unbelievable moments, dives I’ll never forget, creatures I never thought I’d see up close, a version of myself I’m genuinely grateful for 🫶🏼🫧🧜‍♀️

I don’t take any of it for granted.

Because the more time I spend underwater, the more obvious it becomes: the ocean gives us her all. 💙

Time for us to give back.

And the best way I know how to give back is by supporting the people actively protecting it.

A few projects doing incredible work, if you’re looking for an unforgettable experience, holiday or simply where to put your money, your energy or your support:

If I can use my platform, my time or my voice to support the people actually doing the work to protect it, I will.

You don’t have to be a diver. You don’t have to live by the ocean. And you don’t need thousands of dollars to make a difference.

Support a project. Donate if you can. Volunteer. Share their work. Buy from organisations doing things differently. Talk about the issues. Use your skills.

Because loving the ocean shouldn’t just mean taking beautiful pictures of it.

It should mean protecting the thing that makes those pictures possible.

The ocean has given me more than I could ever give back.

But I’ll spend the rest of my life trying anyway. 🌊

🌀 Which ocean conservation project inspires you the most? Tell me in the comments 👇🏼💙🫧

Crown-of-thorns starfish (COTs) are natural coral predators and an important part of healthy reef ecosystems.

But when their numbers become too high, outbreaks can cause massive coral loss. Large populations can consume coral faster than it can recover, damaging huge areas of reef and reducing habitat for marine life.

That’s why we carefully remove COTs when populations become excessive, helping protect the reef and give coral a chance to recover.

Never touch COTs with bare hands! Their venomous spines can cause intense pain, swelling and inflammation.

Meet Ni Ketut Ekayanti (@ekaaa.uvw ): educator, community organiser, and the quiet force behind Sekolah Biru Bali (@sekolahbirubali ).

Growing up, Ketut had limited access to education. But that didn’t dampen her eagerness to learn, if anything, it sharpened it. That drive is what now shapes Sekolah Biru Bali: a space where children in coastal Amed can grow in self-development, environmental awareness, and global communication.

Her hope for the next generation is simple but urgent: that they inherit less of the climate burden our inaction has created, and that they grow up seeing nature not as separate from themselves, but as part of who they are.

Read Ketut’s full story, “Holding the Shoreline: A Young Advocate’s Vision for Coastal Amed,” on parivesa.media (link in bio).

She was here before any of us. She is breathing us into existence right now …

producing more than half the oxygen in every breath we take.

Sea water and human blood share almost the same mineral composition. We are 99% water on a molecular level.

We are simultaneously the ocean in a drop ,and a drop in the ocean.💧

She is not a resource. She is our Mother. And she is asking for our remembrance.

Today, a community of ocean guardians showed up for her on the shores of Bali with Ocean Prosperity Bali — hands in the sand, hearts in the sea.

Love is not just a feeling. It is an action.

What will you do to protect the living, breathing source we rely on for our very existence?

Tell me below.

Thank you @oceanprosperityorg for existing and your mission to save our beloved oceans 🩵🌀🌊

Activating your highest potential⚡️

Ocean Prosperity Monthly Cleanup
📍: Jemeluk Bay
🗓️: 9th May 2026

Another month, another few bags pulled out from places they never belonged, leaving the ocean a little cleaner than before💙

Thanks to every volunteer, diver, and every hand that showed up, helped, and cared for the ocean with us.

We know that consistency create real impact over time. 🩵
