POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

once upon a time (4 years ago today) @oceansarrival had its premiere at the @siffnews uptown. making your first feature film at 22 is no joke and no words can describe how much the process of this project meant to me. I can’t thank my team enough for making this film happen, and thank you to my community who came out to support this ambitious story!

A mentor of mine recently told me that the life an artist is always rooted in process over product, and I can’t stop thinking about that. I feel so embolden to be growing in my process as a filmmaker and artist everyday, and I am thankful for everything the process has shown me.

If there’s a story you want to tell, please make it happen! You might even make some amazing art with your closest friends and family.

my film @oceansarrival is out now and there are so many people to thank (many not pictured here) 🤍

My gratitude to the cast! @austindoddie, thank you for always being there for me all these years. @Jordandavismiller for your spirit, compassion and just jumping right into the deep with us. @Aelizklein, for making me laugh so hard and taking care of me thru this. @Oliviakridle, for always living in the moment and teaching me so much about myself, and bringing it to the art. Vanessa, for inspiring me to believe in myself. @briannahopev, for always keeping me on my toes with love and jokes. And @jjmickn1zzle, for handling every idea, water droplet, temperature and idea I throw at you.

My thanks to the crew! @suzannemcauley, thank you for growing with me and keeping me sane. @barb3films, for your endless wisdom love, light and care. @Hannah_m_peek, for your wonder and always being ready to play. @Jacksonsprofile, for always believing in me, despite what may happen. @sunshines_stories, for bringing these characters to life. @mattgguitarist, for trusting me and for being there since the beginning. @raviv_cohen12, for supporting me from near and far. @_quangn, for moving heaven and earth and making the impossible, possible. And @marchors411, for giving it to me straight.

And cheers to the post-prod crew: @arielloud, thank you for your willingness to endeavor into the unknown with this piece. @lettersfromro, for your grace in color. @tubsprovan23 for keeping it real with me. @catfishdrifter for making magic in the sound mix. And @sabrinasvs, for always making things fun and creating an incredible poster.

Special thanks to @ngohaimiki & @katgroovin clutching the remote ADR audio, @calebmacduff for seeing the things I don’t see, as well as @notaloneband, @mkbischoff, @claire.conway, @loskerrys, and @sripar2000 for letting me use your music to bring this film to life. And thank you to @malianakamuraphotography for these beautiful premiere photos.

There’s so many others to thank and I could go on and on but truly - it takes a village. Thank you for being apart of this story! Until next time… onwards and upwards!
