Two national & regional records. One team effort! 🌊🇲🇻

With the Across Maldives expedition, Shafraz Naeem secured two official entries in the Maldives Book of Records — setting new benchmarks in underwater endurance and exploration:

🌟 16.5 km — longest distance covered in a single underwater DPV dive
🌟 335 km — longest total distance covered underwater using a DPV within two weeks, across 55 dives

It was a mission that marked history and was powered by a network of incredible partners who supported us with funding, dive equipment, DPVs, lights, tools, cameras, safety systems, flights, accommodation, transport, media coverage, connectivity, 3D printing, local coordination, their networks, and so much more.

🙌 That’s why we want to give another huge thank you to:

And so many more incredible people and brands who may not be on Instagram.

On 3 February, Shafraz Naeem completed a record-breaking dive around Hulhumalé — achieving the greatest distance travelled in open water using a diver propulsion vehicle (DPV) in a single dive! The total distance covered was 16.5 kilometres. 🤿

✈️ The journey from Zurich to the Maldives was supported by beOnd, the world’s first premium leisure airline.
