Art isn’t always about what ends up on the wall. Sometimes, it’s about who it brings together. For Brodie Peters-Godden and George Ironside, that connection became part of the work itself. The pair collaborated on both pieces in yours + mine, bringing their distinct visual languages together — George’s retro-inspired arches and nostalgic colour palette alongside Brodie’s leaf motifs and dot work, shaped by culture, journey and lived experience. Different approaches. One shared work. And a pretty lovely example of what can happen when creativity is shared. See their work in yours + mine, showing at Gallery Unbound until 23 August. @brodie.peters.godden @george.ironside.art @ochre.creative

You don’t have to understand every artwork. Sometimes, all you need to understand is that someone has put a piece of themselves into it. Brodie Peters-Godden’s paintings are deeply personal. Through bold colour, movement and symbolism, he explores identity, resilience, culture and lived experience, creating work that is both powerful and deeply honest. His paintings speak of hardship and healing, truth and growth, and the strength that comes from staying connected to who you are and where you come from. Maybe that’s one of the reasons art matters. It gives us the opportunity to step into someone else’s story for a moment. And sometimes, we find parts of ourselves there too. Which piece of Brodie’s work are you drawn to first? @brodie.peters.godden @ochre.creative
