Such an amazing Ribbon Cutting ceremony and opening of Cafe Mesa yesterday! Loved learning more about the history of this park as the original hub of community in Costa Mesa and looking forward to being a part of bringing that back.

Swing by today from 10-3 or catch us Thursdays - Sundays 9-5pm starting on the 29th for soft serve, coffee, tea, and snacks on your next trip to Lions Park.

Let us know what kind of events you hope to see on this lawn! We can’t wait to work with the library to offer creative programming for our city.

Cheers to the start of a beautiful city/county/small business collaboration.

Beyond honored to moderate a heartfelt and hilarious conversation with best selling author @lee_minjin 🙌

Big thank you to everyone who waited in line to attend the @ocpubliclibraries “A Slice of Literary Orange” event where the first 300 people received a SIGNED copy of Min’s incredible new novel, American Hagwon 📚

Like everyone else in that packed city hall, I was so excited to meet her. I’ve loved Min’s writing for over a decade. But it was her grace, patience, dedication and thoughtfulness to all her fans that continues to inspire me. She stayed late and handsigned each book.

Even with her packed schedule (I think she’s touring the UK now ✈️), Min showed up for this library event in Orange County🫶 I’m so grateful for our time together

was literally starstruck to host one of my favorite authors of all time last night: Elizabeth Acevedo!! I’m so happy I was able to book her, meet her in life, and meet other people who love her work as much as I do.

please @ me about it, read all her books, and follow her message of the evening, which is to do a better job caring for one another. ✨

American Hagwon is so good! We had the opportunity to hear @lee_minjin discuss her new book and the conversation was very refreshing. Thank you @ocpubliclibraries for hosting this wonderful event and providing 300 of us with her new book!

Books we are loving for Halloween, Part 1! These come from used bookstores, Instagram bookshops, and from my local Friends of the Library bookstores. I grew up reading a few of these, but most are new to me. It’s been a lot of fun discovering and reading these stories with my son and husband!

I used The Spooky Manor play cloth by @the.wonderie for my backdrop. Isn’t it so cute? And the quality is amazing: thick organic cotton with such vibrant colors!

🎃

🧙🏻‍♀️ Meg’s Veg by Helen Nicoll
🐈‍⬛ A Dark Dark Tale by Ruth Brown
🎃 The Biggest Pumpkin Ever by Steven Kroll
🏠 The House That Drac Built by Judy Sierra
🐆 James the Jaguar by Mary Lystad (technically not a Halloween book, but since the boy dresses up as a jaguar, I’m counting it 🤭)
👻 Ghosts and Goosebumps: Poems to Chill Your Bones selected by Bobbi Katz
🐈 Scary, Scary Halloween by Eve Bunting
🧛🏻‍♂️ Dracula: A Spooky Lift the Flap Book by Keith Faulkner

Fall Library Books 🎃📖

Finally getting to discover new libraries. This is one that I've passed by on occasion but never been into before. The selection was lacking but still found some gems. 🧡
