Rodeo athletes aren’t generic athletes. So why train like one?
You’re training for the arena. Rodeo demands explosive power, stability, reaction, strength, body control, and durability — and your training should reflect that.
At Apex, we train for what the sport actually demands.
Your training should know the difference. Train like an athlete.

You spend hours training your horse.

You practice your event. You make run after run. You work to get faster, sharper, and more consistent.

But rodeo doesn’t just demand an athletic horse. It demands an athletic rider, too.

That’s why Apex exists.

We’re here to help rodeo athletes build the strength, stability, power, and durability their event demands. So when it’s time to compete, your body is just as prepared as your horse.

Train Like An Athlete.

Getting off the horse is only half the battle. What happens when your feet hit the ground matters just as much.

When a goat tier hits the ground at full speed, they have to absorb force, stabilize, and immediately redirect that force into acceleration toward the goat.

That starts with being able to decelerate under control.

Depth Drops
Teach the athlete to absorb force and find a stable landing position.

Depth Drops + Jumps
Add a dynamic movement component and challenge the athlete to transition from landing → producing force.

The goal is to develop the ability to:
• Control the landing
• Maintain trunk and pelvic stability
• Keep an athletic position upon ground contact
• Quickly transition from absorbing force → producing force
• Accelerate efficiently toward the goat

A more stable landing gives you a better position to apply force into the ground and get moving again.

Better stability on the get-off → better position to accelerate.

You don’t lose in the arena.
You lose in your preparation.

The arena has a way of exposing what was done long before you backed into the box or nodded your head.

Strength. Stability. Explosiveness. Conditioning. Consistency.

Those things aren’t built when the pressure is on. They’re built in the days, weeks, and months before it.

Your horse is an athlete. You are too.

Train like one.
