We had a BLAST! thank you @dramafilmfestival for hosting us! thank you for this spot-on beginning to this new season! AND WE WON THE SPECIAL JURY PRIZE! still speechless, exactly like during the ceremony! I want to thank, from the bottom of my heart, all the friends who helped bring this film to life, before, during, after, at or away from the shoot 🧬 JURY STATEMENT: "With bold style and longing for experimentation, this film combines lo-fi live-action and conceptual animation, to amplify the rough motions of a family and a generation in arrested development. Overflowed with both affection and affliction, the film dares to dream in its own vibrant language. From camera to screen, from human to animal and beyond." {This specific first award for this specific film, is dedicated to everyone who still lives while suffering from anxiety} (plus a little bonus snapshot from my Q&A with @room548 , ironically mirroring what would happen 6 days later:) )

“LIVING IN A MATERIAL WORLD”. All of us in the western world have at some point shopped at fast fashion companies. Relatively cheap, easy to find and trendy on social media (zara haul, shein haul), we can't help but be influenced by the convenience. However the problem caused by overconsumption of “easy clothes” clothes does not affect us directly but indirectly. It takes at least 2,700 litres of water to make a t-shirt, which is the same amount of water a human being consumes in 900 days. We should be aware that 1/3 of the world has very limited access to drinking water, not only in Africa and Asia but parts of Europe as well. To do our part to alleviate this crisis,, we can reduce the overconsumption of clothes and start to open up the market of slow fashion and eco-friendly shops, and to start to consider quality over quantity. Had a blast with the BA Graphic Design students @vakalocollege in Athens, rebranding Sony Walkman, PanAm and other defunct brands from the real world as they could have existed in alternative universes such as Gotham City (Nolan’s version), Tatooine, Diagon Alley, Hawkins and Barbieland. Thank u @gdesignstudio.gr for inviting me and allowing me to run a surreal Masterclass on narrative-driven branding. Love you 🤍🛸 Ps- check all of the students’ rebrands @marlontate_ : : : : : ; #teaching #masterclass #fiction #logo #creative #creativedirector #artdirection #lifestyle #trending #designer #graphicdesign #influencer #popculture #famous #marlontate #visual #celebritydesigner #celebrity #branding #brandidentity #barbieland #artschool #itsnicethat #storytelling #surreal #artistsoninstagram #awardwinning
