We got to go on a European cruise, and our adventure started in Barcelona, Spain. 🇪🇸

One of the highlights of Barcelona was getting to see our sweet friend Audrey and spend the day with her.

When we travel, we like to go all in on the local experiences, especially the food. So in Barcelona, we tried some of the tapas the locals eat, including octopus and squid ink croquettes. Definitely not our favorite meal, but what a thrill to try something new!

Next stop was Ibiza, which was actually the place I was looking forward to the least. I almost didn’t even get off the ship, but it ended up being my absolute favorite stop of the entire trip. The old city, stone walls, narrow streets, and warm sunshine reminded me so much of Jerusalem. I felt perfectly at home. We ended the day sipping Spanish sangria while watching the sunset over the water. It was the perfect ending to a day I almost missed. ❤️

Thank You Lord for being You. Thank You for my pastors and brothers & sisters at @icb_spain. International Church of Barcelona holds a very special place in my heart. From the outside looking in, it’s easy to say “he’s just living life”. This summer in Barcelona was much more intentional than that. I went to unpack and uncover a lot of things that I need to heal from. It’s a scary journey, but I realized that it was more terrifying to remain on the road I was on.

One of our Pastors discipled me through a book called Emotionally Healthy Spirituality. It revealed many painful truths within myself. It’s not an opportunity to beat myself up, but an opportunity to surrender. I have carried so many burdens that were never mine to carry. I know that God is good, but I haven’t felt that in these past couple of years. It’s not Godly or holy to act as though I have.

July was amazing and August was a bit tough. If you’ve ever been to Barcelona in the summer, then you know how much more difficult it is to flee from temptation. Or maybe it’s just me. The thoughts of “God will forgive me” or “it’s better than doing this” come flooding. The ultimate questions are “what is this feeding” and “does this honor Jesus?”.

The hidden years are not less significant than the years that people can see. The 30 years of Jesus that we did not see made way for the 3 years that we did. Why would that be any different for us?
I’ve been on a journey of trying to figure this thing out instead of simply walking with the One who already has.

I’m not eager to be a pastor. I’m not eager to be a husband. I’m not eager to be a father. I’m not eager to make all the money in the world. I’m not eager to be known by the world. Not anymore at least. I’m eager to just be. To just be a son of my Heavenly Father. I realize that resting in that truth is the most difficult thing that I will ever do.

A very delayed 8 months of Atlas post. I just love the cozy fall season with little ones. This month brought dressing up for Halloween, lots of crisp walks outside and park play dates with big sis, a visit from Uncle Stephen, a quick trip to Krakow, meeting some cousins for the first time, and a wonderful Friendsgiving celebration.

Still loving food and very demanding when it’s not coming fast enough, still working on crawling, still the smiliest and most lovable squish that we couldn’t imagine our lives without.

This is 43!!! 🎂🎂🎂

The quickest Christmas trip happened to fall on my birthday and this chin-up smile is of sheer joy. Loved time with dear friends (and missing a few more of my sisters!) then home for a peaceful Saturday with the fam, and a stunning day at ICB.

Feeling incredibly blessed, grateful, and expectant for what is ahead!!!

Planning and running Europe Together has been one of the most exhilarating, challenging and fun projects I have ever taken on. As I reflect on this week in Croatia, I’m filled with gratitude…

I’m grateful for @onlytheskipper and his love, support, encouragement—not just during the week of ET, but over the last year leading up to this week.

I’m grateful for the vision from our amazing leaders Larry Henderson and @melindahendersonf and the trust they gave me and Andrew to plan and execute this event.

I’m grateful for the all-star planning team that worked hard over the last year to make sure everything was ready. They poured their hearts into making sure each person who came would have an impactful week.

I’m grateful for the 60 volunteers from 7 different churches in the US who came to serve Team Europe this week. They gave their all and lifted our hands. From running production, to leading worship, managing logistics, pouring into the TCKs—they did it all!

I’m grateful for the time to see old friends and make new ones. It was especially fun to spend time with our Barcelona crew!

I’m grateful for the faith moments, the times or worship and exhortation. I’m grateful for the 600+ seeds planted by our friends in colleagues in Europe. We may never know what God can do through a single seed planted in faith. But God is at work in Europe and I can’t wait to see glimpses of it! @agwm.europe

LOVED staring at the stunning Adriatic (wish we’d done more of that!)

LOVED watching our kids live their best lives with hundreds of TCKs

LOVED hands-down-most-of-ALL connecting with so many old friends and making many new ones!!!! Wonderful humans are ALWAYS the best part!!!

Thank you to those who put so many hours into this that we didn’t see. Your intentionality, giftedness & passion showed up… we’re so grateful to serve with @agwm.europe!!!

When bible + brain and faith + feelings connect… just WOW!

Last summer I met the loveliest lady named Jo at a conference and we became fast friends, a God-connection! I was completely spellbound during her session on neuroscience & scripture, and couldn’t WAIT to have her at @icbspain!

THANK YOU @thefaithfilledtherapist for blessing our staff and church! We love you and we are so grateful for the GIFT of your friendship and wisdom!

I have finally some time to post a few pics of this our first #MissionaryTrip. It has been great! Thanks pastor @jcarrano and @brandicarrano and all @icb_spain for having us!!
