What a Burn…..

I‘ve been back from burning man for three weeks now. This was the dustiest year and in ways my most difficult year. I am still cleaning and organizing both my belongings and my mind. Due to some unfortunate events, I really got to feel the community aspect more than ever. I made new friendships and deepened existing ones. There are too many thank yous to give out, but know I am deeply grateful for everyone who was a part of my burn. I am a believer that things happen for a reason. But you know what they say: #nextyearwasbetter

Happy belated birthday to @odindresch !
Dog Ears has been a wonderful addition to the coven! You may not see him on the stage, but behind the scenes he works his ass off! Not only was he our videographer this year, but he participated in our safety team, was our radio head on playa (aka our stage manager), got some rad photos of our performance and is an all around huge team player! We are so incredibly grateful to have you!

The unexpected illuminated this Burning Man cycle beyond imagination. The highlight has to be the invitation to join @pyro.coven in the @fireconclave on burn night as safety and performer. Welp! Being on @beastgames was a short but absolute amazing ride that I am so grateful for even when I still struggle to accept what happened. ⚡️

A buncha people asked me “where the heck did you go? I saw you and then you were gone!”
- I dropped my blocks which meant instant disqualification.

My intuition had been screaming at me to put on the bracelet the blocks were tied to. After pulling up the sandbag, I undid the string and it was like those slow motion scenes you see in a movie: the blocks slipped and were falling, action going on all around me and a feeling of complete defeat and disappointment in myself with nothing I could do about my mistake.

When I think of it now, of COURSE I should have put the bracelet on. The adrenaline, the cameras, the pure excitement, the terror, the sleep deprivation. I was feeling it all and even when typing this, I instantly say to myself, “well, you should be stronger so those things don’t affect you. The other players were just fine.” To that I remind myself: I did my best with where I was at in that moment.

My mind still races with the “what ifs” but I remind myself that there is nothing I can possibly do to change what happened. The games were incredible and I would have loved so much to continue on but using more time with “what ifs” uses time in the ultimate game of Life.

So from here it’s: what will I choose to focus on? I can keep mourning my loss of an amazing experience or I can focus on how I was so lucky to be chosen out of 400,000 applicants to compete because I’m strong! That’s crazy! The girl who wanted to be as tiny as possible is now someone who was chosen because she’s strong.

All in all, I’m so incredibly grateful to have met the amazing people I did - players, @mrbeast team and crew members. They made the experience incredible and unforgettable. Maybe one day I’ll be able to redeem myself! But until then, I’m going to keep getting stronger and keep trying to shift my focus to all the awesome things I DID get to experience. And to remember the ultimate lesson learned - always listen to your intuition! And keep having fun 🤗🩵

Lots of different projects & events took up my time this month & very thankful for it all 🥹
Worked on 4 different productions in one week, some I can’t talk about yet but others I can shout out. Got to be up in the mountains for an indie film called Switchback, shoutout to the homie Drescher for bringing me on 😎 As well as helping with the last few tasks for the Latin Grammy Awards, thank you Erin for a cute lil gig 😊 Shout out to the crew who I spent my time outdoors with, yall made coming into work feel like I’m hanging out with friends, hope to see everyone again in the future 🖤
It was also my one year anniversary with my best friend 💗 Words can’t describe how much love I carry for that man, to be loved so kindly & so deeply is something I didn’t think could happen for me. He truly is one of a kind & I thank fate (and hinge) for bringing us together 😌
From my biggest tattoo project ever, to Friendsgiving & thanksgiving, this month was wonderful ❣️
