Between Two Worlds, 2025

This on-going project was born from the moment we’re living in: a time where immigrant communities and people of culture are being asked, in so many violent and quiet ways, to shrink.

But culture does not shrink.

It grows through family.
It survives through language.
It’s loved through colors.
It moves through sport.

Dacheka came to this country and learned English through playing soccer. With the World Cup here, that feels even louder. The field becomes more than a place of play. It becomes a bridge, a language, and a throne.

So we built the image around that.

- The door holds her story as a portal.
- The grass becomes the land she stands on now.

I had the honor of coming into this project as Art Director and Creative Producer, working alongside Michelle and Dacheka to shape the world around her story. From building the concept, to assembling the creative team, to coordinating with Fine Art Artist, Raphael Bahindwa on the fine artwork for the door, this became a collaboration rooted in care, identity, and intention.

This is not merely an image.

It’s our collective refusal to disappear.
