Our life often revolves around all of our responsibilities, as it’s primarily should, however, if you live in a city, which is the majority of the world, it’s very easy to get wrapped up in the rate race.

Driving during rush hour is horribly stressful. Driving at night with the sunset over the Pacific Ocean is another story.

Grateful to call this place home- 3rd generation, it’s breathtaking and surreal. I’ve renamed BC to beautiful Canada, you can’t deny its energy. Also feel very fortunate to have a career that can be done anywhere that people eat food!

However that beauty comes at a price and it’s high. The average person in a year pays $25,000 for rent, in 4 years they could buy a modest and sizeable home in a smaller town and settle down into life.

Grow your own veggies, have chickens if you want eggs or meat, have animals if you want or don’t. Have kids, or not. Be in a relationship, or not. Life is too short to never experience life in a way that allows you to really enjoy nature, your family, friends, time, dreams, and travel if that’s important too.

Are you ever looking at little houses wondering what could be possible?

Perché dovrebbe pulire le pentole?

Mio zio non lava quasi mai nemmeno i piatti o le forchette.
Ovviamente quelli degli ospiti sì, ma i suoi no.
Li lascia seccare all’aperto e spesso, con la forchetta, pulisce il piatto così bene che sembra quasi nuovo.

Una volta li lavava anche con la neve, ma ora non ne vede più il senso ed è anche meno lavoro così.
Una volta avevamo cenato con qualcosa a base di aglio e cipolla e la mattina dopo, nello stesso piatto, c’era qualcosa con cioccolato bianco…
Non era proprio il massimo: dolce, salato e aglio insieme 😁

Why should he clean the pots?

My uncle almost never washes plates or forks.
Of course, he washes the ones for guests — but not his own.
He lets them dry outside, and often he cleans the plate so well with a fork that it looks almost new.

He used to wash them with snow, but now he doesn’t see the point anymore — and it’s less work this way.
Once we had dinner with something made of garlic and onions, and the next morning, on the same plate, there was something with white chocolate…
Not exactly the best mix: sweet, salty, and garlic 😁

Same vibe, different font 🤗

Backpacking really shook our whole dang world! It opened our eyes to so many of the infinite ways of living that truly feed the soul, those more tailored to who we are and the lives we crave. It taught us endurance, self-sufficiency, resourcefulness, carrying only what we need, adaptability, problem solving, and of course, a healthy thirst for dirtbaggery.

Those years of experiences, such as our month and a half in Mongolia, shaped our resilience and perspective, and we’re not sure we would have ever adapted to off-grid desert living at home in the states, working on building @goatmountainglamping, without them ✌️
