Ao Yai is a traditional fishing village on the southeastern coast of Koh Kood, where life has long been shaped by the sea. Wooden houses and walkways are built on stilts above the water, alongside fishing boats, nets and fish cages. Fishing remains at the heart of the local economy, with the day’s catch making its way directly from the boats to the village kitchens. More than a picturesque stop, Ao Yai is still a living, working community and a glimpse into another side of island life in Thailand
