On Juneteenth, I’m reminded that education can be a space of liberation.

For many young people, especially those who have been overlooked or underestimated, seeing someone who looks like them in positions of leadership, mentorship, and education can change everything.

That’s why @made_umes , the Man the Shore Summit, and my Men of Color in Education program matter.

This year, we brought together young men from across the Eastern Shore and beyond to connect with educators, mentors, and leaders who poured into them, challenged them, and inspired them. One young man shared, “I want to be the role model for the next kid that I didn’t have growing up.”

That’s what this work is about.

Not just preparing future educators, but helping young people see their potential, believe in themselves, and understand that there’s no limit to what they can achieve.

Take a look at this recap from the 2026 Man the Shore Summit.

And if you’re interested in teaching and looking for brotherhood, mentorship, leadership, and purpose, MADE Men is now recruiting . Email: rhwarren@UMES.edu

We’re always looking for the next generation of revolutionary educators.

Day two at @milehighmisters Magic retreat reminded us this work is bigger than any one of us.

With powerful keynotes and sessions our @made_umes M.A.D.E. Men at @umesnews leaned into purpose, brotherhood, and impact.

This is bigger than a program.
Bigger than a moment.
It’s about legacy, access, and transforming education for the next generation.

Locked in. Growing. Building something that lasts.

M.A.D.E. is recruiting for those interested in become a revolutionary educator .

If you’re ready to be part of something bigger, send us a DM or comment “BIGGER.”

M.A.D.E. Men (@made_umes ) are back in Denver, like we never left.

Day one at the Call Me MISTER Magic Retreat set the tone. From powerful opening sessions to meaningful connections at the reception, we stepped into a space filled with purpose, vision, and impact.

We’re witnessing firsthand the brilliance of Black and Brown men leading, innovating, and transforming education and it’s fueling us.

Our brothers are locked in. Energized. Focused. Ready to grow, stretch, and bring it all back home.

We’re building stronger men. Stronger programs. And a stronger pipeline of high-quality Black and Brown male educators. And we’re just getting started.
