two chicks in green, on a swing 🌾 2/2 of my summer of Forge Shows! Truly I cannot thank the Forge (@theforgearts ) and our incredible director (@lnwheelerer ) enough for the opportunity to perform with them this summer. I have felt such a loving embrace from this community and I am so happy I got the chance to work with them so closely. I would also be amiss if I didn’t talk about some of the very special friendships I’ve made being here. Ellen is truly one of the kindest directors I have been able to work with and I would be honored to work with her again. Cheyenne (although only here for a short time, we miss you diva) is one of the sweetest and most fun people to perform with and I am so grateful we got to hang with her this summer. Bri and Remy are not only some of the most talented choreographers ever, but also killer performers and wonderful friends. I have genuinely made so many new friendships and connections here I don’t think I have space to list them all. Miss my girls and doing Farmer and the Cowman. That’s all, ily Oklahoma!

🎭 Magic happened last night. The first photo was taken just over an hour before curtain. The second photo was taken on stage during the performance. In between those two moments, live theatre worked its magic. When an unexpected illness created a last-minute casting challenge, Ellen Wheeler turned to Austin Fronk and asked if he would step into the featured role of Ali Hakem. With just over an hour to prepare, Austin said yes. What followed was a whirlwind of line readings, staging adjustments, costume changes, and teamwork. Then, script in hand, Austin stepped onto the stage and brought Ali Hakem to life for our audience. And what an entrance it was. The audience immediately embraced him. They laughed with him, cheered for him, and followed him every step of the way. What could have been a difficult situation became one of those unforgettable theatre moments where everyone in the room was rooting for the same thing. By the end of the show, the crowd had completely fallen in love with Austin's Ali Hakem. This is what live theatre looks like. Not everything goes according to plan. Sometimes challenges arrive at the last possible moment. But talented performers, dedicated directors, and an incredible cast and crew come together to create something special. We're incredibly proud of Austin for stepping into a featured role with almost no notice, grateful for Ellen's leadership, and thankful for a cast and crew that rallied together to make the impossible possible. ✨ Just over an hour before curtain, a conversation. ✨ A few hours later, a performance that had the audience cheering him on.
