Today, I celebrate a profession that keeps hearts moving, bodies stronger, and lives more independent. 🫀✨

Happy World Physiotherapy Day!

This year’s theme is a powerful reminder that physiotherapy goes far beyond what people think we do .
From preventing cardiovascular disease and stroke to supporting recovery and restoring independence, our role in promoting movement and healthier lives significantly .

As a Physiotherapy student, I’m proud to be learning a profession built on science, movement, compassion, and impact.

Here’s to moving more, living better, and making every movement count. 🤍

THINGS THEY DIDN’T PREPARE US FOR IN PHYSIOTHERAPY SCHOOL 😭🩺

Because apparently, passing exams wasn’t enough… we had to collect character development by force 😂

From endless standing during ward rounds, unexpected back pain, getting scared when you’re asked questions on the spot, to becoming emotionally attached to patients you quickly realize that Physio school is MUCH more than what’s written in your textbooks Or massage as people do think 😂

Some days you feel like you know everything.
Other days, you’re questioning every anatomical origin and insertions you’ve ever memorized. 😭

But somehow, through the stress, exhaustion, laughter and little wins, we keep showing up. ❤️🩺

If this resonates with you, drop your own struggle in the comments! 👇🏽🤭 What’s one thing Physio school didn’t prepare YOU for?

Fade’s memories: Going down memorylane 🥺

Today, I remembered how much of God’s help I
have enjoyed all my lifee.
This time last year, i was job hunting after my nysc, I remember submitting my
application this same month to where i now work. A year after, i still call God faithful.

I’m really just a girl that loves Jesusssss, and wants to do God’s will. Makes me remember when a junior colleague asked me this “PT Fade, what if God calls you into ministry”, I said I will not answer
e. Then
she said “With how much you love the lord, I’m sure you will”. Well, you can never tell, and this isn’t the point of this conversation
The point I’m trying to make is that, 1 really just want to live for the audience of one, serve the lord, live a purpose filled life, give my all and die empty
One of the many blessings of God I do not deny is, being surrounded with wise counsel(s). My wonderful parents, My mentor, My Pastors, My matronnn, My elderly Patients), My friendddddd(s), and many more people I can’t mention here.

God is a good good father❤️, Follow Jesus🤎.

My COBES Experience Strengthened My Passion for Public Health🩺🌍

I remember during one of our COBES visits to a secondary school, we were interacting with the students and talking about health careers when one student raised his hand and asked:

What do physiotherapist do?

It's a question I've heard many times before.

But this student was genuinely curious. He wanted to know more.

Then I started to explain the things physiotherapists do which is much more than people think

We help people recover after strokes, injuries, surgeries, and neurological conditions. We help reduce pain, improve movement, prevent disability, and promote healthier lifestyles.

The more we talked, the more interested the students became.

That moment reminded me of something important:

Sometimes people don't ignore healthcare because they don't care they simply don't know.

And that's why experiences like COBES matter.

Beyond the lectures, assessments, and hospital postings, COBES taught me that healthcare also involves educating communities, creating awareness, and helping people understand how they can live healthier lives.

As a physiotherapy student, it made me even more passionate about taking physiotherapy beyond the clinic and into the community.

💙 Because physiotherapy is more than rehabilitation. It's movement. It's prevention. It's education. It's helping people live better.

✨ Stay tuned to Physio Diary.Tolu as I continue sharing my clinical journey and uncovering the many things physiotherapists do that most people don't know about. You might be surprised! 😉

But honestly let me know , before today, what did you think physiotherapists actually do? 👇

I remember telling God earlier this year that I wanted as much as 10-15 public speaking/facilitating/moderating sessions this year.

What an awesome time it was facilitating (not moderating) a breakout session on content and social media with the children, teenagers and youths of the CAC church, mowe, Ogun state.

By the way, the clips at the church was filmed by one of the teenagers that volunteered to make my videos, and I love them sm.

If you got to this point, pleaseeeeee congratulate me for ticking off no 1 public speaking goal this year, 8-13 more to go🙈❤️.
