Sahara’s first big concert (we can’t count KidzBop 😑) had her and I out way past bedtime on a school night to watch her favorite pop group, @katseyeworld ✨.

My baby got to enjoy and experience the Suite-life, and danced from beginning to end with one of her besties 💕. My baby doll has got the moves!

Core memory indeed unlocked on our Mummy Daughter date. Love you, Sahara ❤️

In my former role as UK Trade Envoy to Nigeria & Ghana, I often remarked about the power of the diaspora in the UK and their influence in celebrating and promoting UK and African businesses, creativity and innovation. This mission went one step further earlier this week.

It was great to attend the opening of EbonyLife Place London on 8 October with the Mayor of London, Commissioner for Arts from Lagos State and the founder of EbonyLife Place, Mo Abudu.

The venue is a new cultural and entertainment centre featuring a cinema, restaurant, fashion and art. The aim is to showcase the vibrancy of African culture to a new generation, whilst paying tribute to the cultural icons who continue to fly the flag for this rich creativity.

I’m obviously biased because it is in my constituency but please do come along and visit a piece of ‘Lagos in London’
