The Sweeney 📀

@thisisraywinstone
@officialplanb

The Sweeney (2012) is a British action-crime drama film directed by Nick Love, serving as a contemporary big-screen reboot of the classic 1970s UK television series of the same name. The film follows the aggressive, law-bending exploits of London's Metropolitan Police elite Flying Squad—colloquially known as "The Sweeney" from the Cockney rhyming slang Sweeney Todd (Flying Squad).

The Plot: Hardened Detective Inspector Jack Regan and his loyal partner George Carter use old-school, rough-and-ready tactics to enforce the law in a modern underworld. When a deadly jewelry heist puts them on the trail of a ruthless old enemy, Regan risks everything to get the job done, balancing departmental heat, internal affairs scrutiny, and an illicit affair.

I first saw @rizahmed in The Road to Guantánamo, a film I still consider one of the most important of our time for capturing a chapter of history too many would rather forget. Then came Ill Manors and eventually The Night Of, when the world began recognizing what some of us had witnessed years earlier. But Mogul Mowgli, created with the brilliant @curry_crayola hit differently. It brought together both worlds I'd respected him in for years, the actor and the MC, while exploring the complicated relationship between identity, family, faith, ambition and belonging. Watching someone you appreciated long before the recognition finally receive his flowers is a special thing. But today isn't about Riz Ahmed the actor. It's about Riz MC, the lyricist, the thinker and the student of Hip Hop whose brilliance deserves an entirely different conversation.

I'll never forget discovering his music through the video for “Sour Times,” with appearances from everyone from Plan B to Tom Hardy. What stayed with me wasn't the famous faces. It was the brother behind those words. The intelligence, conviction and courage to articulate things so many of us grew up feeling but couldn't explain, even as I made this video I began to tear. And the record “Once Kings,” is an anthem on a molecular level for anyone raised between cultures, carrying the expectations of one world while trying to find their place in another. You don't just hear that record. You recognize pieces of your own life in it. Beneath all that substance is a seriously gifted MC with a remarkable pen, sharp wit and unmistakable voice. Some artists entertain you. Others make you feel understood. Riz does both. I hope his family knows how much his work means to people he'll probably never meet. He probably won't even see this, but this page was never about getting noticed by the stars. It's about sharing verses you might never have discovered otherwise. Some of y'all probably didn't even know this brother could spit like that.🔥

I RECENTLY SAT DOWN FOR AN INTERVIEW TO OPEN UP ABOUT MY JOURNEY, MY MUSIC, THE EXPERIENCES THAT HAVE SHAPED ME, AND THE PERSON BEHIND THE ARTIST.

MUSIC HAS ALWAYS BEEN MORE THAN JUST SOMETHING I CREATE — IT’S HOW I EXPRESS THE THINGS I CAN’T ALWAYS PUT INTO WORDS, HOW I PROCESS LIFE, AND HOW I CONNECT WITH PEOPLE. EVERY SONG CARRIES A PIECE OF MY STORY, MY STRUGGLES, MY GROWTH, AND THE DREAMS I’M STILL CHASING. THIS INTERVIEW GIVES YOU A CHANCE TO SEE A LITTLE DEEPER INTO WHO I AM, WHERE I’VE COME FROM, AND WHY I DO WHAT I DO. I’M GRATEFUL FOR EVERY STEP OF THIS JOURNEY, AND I’M ONLY JUST GETTING STARTED. 🎞️🎥

We are all so dumbed ⬇️ that nobody knows — WWW — what, what, what, or…

I suggest that unless people START believing, then we are all cucked or fucked. And if people don’t KNOW why, just ask the — interweb — to educate you on the uniquely religious books of Judaism, both starting with the letter T and ending in child abuse — and certainly, to me, that’s not cool.

Those that believe are quite right to do so. And Mr DeadStein, Mr LiveStein, or simply put, DEAD Mr Epstein, loved nothing more than fucking and confusing people right in front of their eyes. And the why? That’s simple: most know nothing.

And that’s the Greater @stateofisrael plan, and of course the #ThirdShitTemplePlan one. The confusion and chaos has accelerated due to some #Rabbis believing in STUPID, and that #No47 aka #GoodDonaldT, whom is not the #Messiah because I am — joking, I am not.

But without waking soon, they win.

And unless my new feature, Chicks with Dicks, then even worse: TRANSHUMANISM ends the human, and that, I think, is SHIT.

BUT I HAVE COMPLETELY THEN COOL a object because I have what that — an amazing man who sadly passed too young, like many. Dead Simon 🕊️ passed too young and will always rightly be celebrated for everything they achieved.

And I suggest this pink party pirate achieved a shit ton, and perhaps, like many, was done by those who had no…
