THERAPY THURSDAY 🧠✨
Love Languages: Gift Giving & Receiving 🎁

Gift giving/receiving ranks 3/4 on my personal love language list. One thing I’ve had to learn on my journey of becoming more of self is how to open my heart and receive love.

Sometimes, the challenge isn’t the love language itself. It’s the belief system we’ve developed around it.

So I asked myself:

What belief system brings discomfort for me when it comes to receiving love through gifts?

For me, it was:

“People only get you things because they want something from you.”

And…

“If someone gives me something, I’ll eventually have to pay them back in some way, and what was supposed to be a blessing will become an inconvenience.”

Whew. 😮‍💨

I had to recognize that this belief was a lie! it was a protection mechanism.

Yes, there are people who give with expectations attached. There are people who love-bomb. There are people whose intentions aren’t genuine.

But that doesn’t mean everyone is coming to hurt me, manipulate me, or collect a debt from me later.

I can use discernment.
I can recognize red flags.
I can set boundaries.
I can pay attention to patterns.

And I can ALSO allow genuine love to be genuine.

My new belief system:

✨ I am open to receiving love.
✨ I don’t have to earn every blessing I receive.
✨ A gift can simply be a gift.
✨ I can receive without immediately feeling indebted.
✨ I trust myself to discern what is genuine and what requires a boundary.
✨ I give the same love I desire to receive to the people around me.

Healing isn’t always learning how to love others better.

Sometimes, healing is learning how to let yourself be loved, too. 💗

Therapy Thursday reflection:
What belief have you developed around receiving love through gifts and is that belief still serving you? What is the root of this belief? How can I be more open in this love language?

Sharing a small segment from the recent Galentine’s event where I had the honor of being a guest speaker.

Forgiveness, when practiced well, is truly a superpower. But it also requires wisdom, guarding your heart, setting boundaries, and learning how to love people from a distance when necessary.

If you feel led, take this exercise and moment in for yourself and lean into the power of forgiveness!

PS: The girls’ gasps, shock, laughter, and real reactions during this conversation made the moment even more special. I love them dearly and I’m so grateful I was able to share a piece of my heart with them 🥹❤️ #TherapyThursdaysWithQG #Forgiveness #Boundaries #GuardYourHeart #PurposeWork

This past weekend, I had the privilege of being a guest on Pop the Balloon, where I shared my type, my standards, and most importantly my faith. I am proud to stand firmly in who God has called me to be and to share my testimony as a woman He continues to mold with intention and grace.

I also want to share this with humility and honesty: I was previously incorrect in my understanding of the Scripture regarding tattoos. That said, I do believe my tattoos are a part of my journey and my testimony. They serve as reminders that Christianity does not require perfection only a willing heart that is open to growth, repentance, and transformation through a relationship with Jesus. And I will not be getting anymore. Grateful that you guys got to see that I am far from perfect and am still in process.

I pray this blesses you whether it encourages you to begin your own relationship with Jesus, to walk in abstinence, or simply to choose obedience and light in a world that often pulls us in the opposite direction. My hope is that you would choose to be a vessel and a light in every room you enter.

“Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” 1 Corinthians 15:58

No match for now but I trust God’s timing completely. I’ll keep you all in the loop and continue sharing my journey authentically, boldly, and with confidence. My YouTube channel has some parts of my testimony and story as well!

Thank you for the overwhelming love, encouragement, and support. It truly means the world to me. And tune in to watch the full episode (88)! 🤍👸🏾✨

Skin care, but make it intentional.
This is our simple and effective “Petal Skin” mask created for hydrating and toning.

This mask is great for dehydrated or dull skin, hyperpigmentation and dark spots, and as a refresher to bring your skin back to life after a long day. It is Included in our Glowcial facial—designed to leave you glowing. And be sure to leave the mask on until your skin has fully absorbed its nutrients. It will become the dark green color when it’s ready to be removed!

Petal Skin🌸✨
🍯 Honey — deeply hydrates, fights acne-causing bacteria, and supports skin healing
🌼 Turmeric — calms inflammation, evens tone, and boosts radiance
🌱 Aloe Vera — soothes, cools, and strengthens the skin barrier
🥑 Avocado — rich in healthy fats and vitamins that deeply nourish, soften, and restore the skin

*Be sure to make in small batches and store in the fridge if using within 24hours. Don’t use after 24hours due to oxidation and potential bacteria growth.

Self-care is my favorite pastime.

Be kind to yourself and embrace the reality of the grief. Dont run away from your emotions, feel them & then release them. Feelings are valid, but they are not permanent. Let them flow through you and learn to love yourself throughout the process🥹❤️💪🏾 #TherapyThursdaysWithQG
