I defended my final year project. 🎓

Today makes it exactly a week since we had our external project defence in the department and I'm so glad. The journey which began about 5 years ago is closing so soon.

A few months ago, this was just a topic on a page. Today, it is a completed final year project: “Evaluation of Management Practices and Operational Efficiency of Travel Agencies in Osun State.”

I chose this topic because travel agencies keep people moving, yet they face delays, stiff competition and little research attention in Osun state. I wanted my work to speak to real businesses, not just a shelf.

My research project asked one simple question: how does the way an agency is managed affect how well it serves its customers?

My research evaluated the management practices and operational efficiency of travel agencies in Osun State, Nigeria. I surveyed agencies across the three senatorial districts and tested how management practices relate to efficiency.

What I found:

✅ Agencies are strong in organisational structure, record keeping and supplier relationships.
⚠️ Many still lack standard booking procedures, digital tools, structured complaint handling and performance monitoring.
📈 Management practices are significantly and positively related to operational efficiency

My recommendations: document procedures, track performance, invest in digital tools and build stronger partnerships with airlines and hotels.

Thank you to God, to my supervisor Mr. T. B. Abdulkareem, my parents and guardian, to my family and to everyone who supported me in the course of this research.

I am open to learning, mentorship, professional networking, guiding opportunities, collaborations, and meaningful opportunities within the tourism, and Web3 space.

Something is coming. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️💙

For the next 31 days, I'll be taking you through a journey of reflection, growth, lessons, questions, and becoming.💪🤗

Not a “perfect life” series.

Not a countdown just for the sake of counting.

Just me documenting what I'm learning, what I'm building, what I'm unlearning, and the person I'm intentionally becoming.

31 days of honest reflections.
31 days of lessons.
31 days of becoming.

It starts October 11.

✈️ IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO REDESIGN TOURISM

This World Tourism Day 2026, as we reflect on the theme: Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism, I am not just celebrating destinations.

I'm celebrating THE PEOPLE behind the redesign.

I celebrate the CODERS building the apps that connect a tourist in Abuja to a waterfall in Osun.

I celebrate the CREATORS using AI to tell authentic African stories the world has never heard.

I celebrate the AGENTS & GUIDES whose human touch no AI can replace, but AI makes it more efficient.

To every student, every small business owner, every traveler choosing local, thank you.

You are redesigning tourism.
You are making an impact.

Digital is not replacing tourism and hospitality.
Digital is AMPLIFYING it.

WORLD TOURISM DAY 2026
Theme: Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism

Tourism is no longer just about where we go, but HOW we are guided to go there.

Tomorrow, 27th September 2026, the world will celebrate World Tourism Day under the official UN Tourism theme: “Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism” to be hosted in El Salvador.

This theme is timely. Today, AI decides which destination you see, which hotel you trust, and which culture you experience. A tourist now asks AI: Where should I go? Where should I stay? What should I eat?

As confirmed by UN Tourism, this digital shift can empower small businesses, improve service quality, and create new opportunities - but if not controlled, it can concentrate tourists on a few platforms and leave many destinations invisible.

For us in Nigeria and Africa, this is a call to action.
Our travel agencies cannot remain analogue in a digital world. Efficiency today is not just manpower — it is data, digital platforms, and AI-driven customer experience.

As future accountants and tourism managers, we must redesign tourism, not to replace human hospitality, but to make it smarter, more inclusive, and more sustainable.

Digital is the agenda.
AI is the tool.
Redesigning tourism is our responsibility.

I will be an active part of the redesigning.
What about you?

Happy World Tourism Day 2026 in advance from OLABISI Joseph Oluwadamilare, your Web3 Tourist in making.

🌍 MYTH OR FACT? TOURISM REWIRED BEGINS!

For the next 7 days, we’re challenging what you think you know about tourism.
Day 1: Tourism is more than travel.
When you hear “tourism,” what comes to mind?
A vacation? A hotel? A flight? A beautiful destination?
Think again. 👀
Tourism connects people, places, businesses, culture, hospitality and experiences.
Do you agree? Drop your take below. 👇

AND IT’S HERE. 👀🤎
The shoot I didn’t plan.
The moment I almost didn’t take.
The beginning of something I’ve been building quietly.
Hephy’s Home of Comfort is stepping into a new season. 🤎
This is more than pictures.
It’s the beginning of the launch. ✨
Stay close. Something is coming. 👀

Okayyyy, so let me gist you people 😂❤️

First time doing proper makeup like this ooo 😭😂
First time doing an actual shoot too! And the funniest part? I didn’t even plan any of this! 😭

Everything just happened and I said, “You know what? Let’s do it!” 😂

Big thank you to my babe for helping me with my makeup. ❤️ You really came through for me, and I appreciate you so much! 🥹🫶🏽

And please, let me use myself to tell somebody here:

DON’T LET ANYBODY PRESSURE YOU. 😂

You don’t have to have everything figured out before you start. You don’t need the perfect plan, perfect makeup, perfect camera, perfect anything.

Sometimes, just do something sha 😂❤️
Start from where you are. Use what you have. Try. Learn. Improve.

Because imagine I had said, “Ah, I’m not ready yet, I’ll do it when everything is properly planned.”
I for miss this moment! 😭😂

So yes, this is me trying something new, stepping out of my comfort zone and having fun with it. 🤎

And honestly… I’m proud of myself. 🥹❤️

Hephy’s Home of Comfort is entering another level, one small step at a time. 🤎✨

The role of tourism in society goes far beyond vacations.

Tourism is a silent engine behind 3 things every society needs:
1. Economic resilience
It diversifies income, supports SMEs, and brings foreign exchange without extracting natural resources.
2. Cultural preservation
Festivals, food, art, and architecture get funded because people want to experience them. Tourism turns heritage into a living asset.
3. Social connection
Travel breaks stereotypes, it creates understanding between regions, religions, and generations.

In a world that feels more divided each year, tourism is one of the few industries that literally brings people together.

If we invest in tourism the way we invest in tech or oil, we don’t just get more visitors — We get stronger communities.

What role do you think tourism should play in national development plans?
