Counterfeit certifications and a stolen identity led to the seizure of imported sinks and radiators by Norfolk CBP officers this month. Criminals use stolen identities and fake companies to illegally bring goods into the US and avoid paying tariffs or smuggle banned items. CBP enforces trade and safeguards the American economy.

Gotta catch ’em all… but wait... 🚩📦😅

Our officers recently intercepted 17 boxes packed with roughly 700 “9.5 - 10” graded trading cards each. That’s nearly 12,000 Gem Mints! Sounds like a collector’s wildest dream until you notice they were shipped with zero extra protection, raising major red flags. 🚨

Nice try. 🕵️‍♂️⚡️

Beyond ruining a scammer’s day, shutting down counterfeit operations like this is vital to protecting unsuspecting collectors and fans from shelling out hard-earned cash for worthless fakes.

These high-value “treasures” are currently sitting on the bench, held for a thorough authenticity review. If they’re fake? It’s game over, and they’re headed straight for seizure. 🚫

Time is up for fake luxury! 🛑⌚

When a shipment manifested as cheap "hardware" with a declared value of just $100 caught the attention of Indianapolis CBP officers, it led to a massive discovery during a random enforcement examination.

Inside, officers uncovered 300 counterfeit "Audemars Piguet" luxury watches. Confirmed by our Center of Excellence and Expertise (CEE), these items featured inferior craftsmanship and infringed on registered trademarks.

Thanks to rigorous trade enforcement, this massive counterfeit haul—with a total estimated MSRP of $12,000,000.00 USD—was successfully seized.

Why do we stop this? Counterfeit luxury goods deceive consumers with poor quality, fund underground criminal networks, and undermine legitimate businesses. Staying vigilant at our ports of entry ensures that intellectual property theft is stopped in its tracks. 💪🔒

The International Field Office’s global frontline helps extend CBP’s security posture beyond U.S. borders.

Through intelligence, technology, and international partnerships, we support CBP’s broader efforts to identify known or suspected terrorists, disrupt criminal organizations, and prevent dangerous individuals and illicit goods from reaching the United States. #OFOProudus CBP officer wearing blue gloves inspecting a pile of folded clothes on a metal table next to black backpacks.

On #NationalPumpkinDay, we got a spooky season surprise!

@CBPgov agriculturesSpecialists inspected a package from Ghana labeled “fluted pumpkin seeds” but instead found 4.4 kilograms of Telfairia occidentalis seeds, some already sprouting, packed in sawdust.

The shipment did not include the required phytosanitary certificate or import permit.

Seeds and plants may seem harmless, but when they enter the United States without proper documentation, they can carry pests, diseases, or invasive risks that threaten U.S. agriculture and ecosystems.

This National Pumpkin Day, remember: no tricks, just declarations. Before importing seeds, plants, or agricultural products, make sure you know the rules and have the proper permits.
