One of the greatest strengths of the Oglethorpe experience is the community that continues long after graduation. I enjoyed spending time with Leadership Oglethorpe fellows, Professor Vince Thomas, and alum and Board of Trustees member Cody Partin, who shared his insights and perspective with students. Moments like these are a great reminder that our students have a community of alumni they can turn to for mentorship and advice as they find their own paths.

What a night with the Leadership Oglethorpe Sophomore Fellows.

Cody Partin, President of the Cox Family Office at Cox Enterprises, joined us for a conversation on adaptive leadership in practice. A few lines our Fellows are carrying with them:

• Treat everyone with respect.
• “Bad news doesn’t get better with age.”
• Empathy and EQ are a leader’s superpower.
• Show up. Do your best. Be curious. Treat people well.

Proud of this group for the questions they asked and the way they showed up.

From Oglethorpe to the Accounting World!

Last week, the Oglethorpe Accounting Club hosted an insightful panel featuring professionals who shared their career journeys, industry experiences, and valuable advice for aspiring accountants!

We were especially excited to welcome back one of our very own Oglethorpe alumni, reminding us that the opportunities beyond OU are endless!

I was invited back to @oglethorpeuniv to speak with the Oglethorpe Business Club about entrepreneurship as a woman in business ✨So many of my filmmaking and business skills were built during my time at Oglethorpe, so stepping back on campus to pour into the students felt like a true full circle moment.

Thank you @oglethorpebusinessclub for having me, and thank you to my sistas @imbriannawilson @jazzonfire_ for showing up to support 🖤✨

Last Thursday, our Petrels had the opportunity to connect with Oglethorpe alumni representing leading accounting firms, including Deloitte and KPMG, at the Accounting Mixer!

From career advice to internship opportunities and professional networking, our alumni shared valuable insights into the accounting industry and their journeys beyond Oglethorpe.

A huge thank you to Hammack School of Business and Oglethorpe Accounting Club for hosting this event, and to our incredible alumni for returning to campus to inspire and support the next generation of accounting professionals!

Yesterday’s Economics Student Alumni Mixer brought together current students and Oglethorpe alumni for an evening of meaningful conversations, networking, and shared experiences. It was a great opportunity for students to hear directly from alumni, build new connections, and see where an Oglethorpe education can take them!

A huge thank you to all of our alumni who came back to campus to share their time, experiences, and advice with our students. We are always grateful to see our Petrel community continuing to support one another beyond graduation.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening such a success!
