About Innovative Design:
“In this creative and fun fashion design lab, students stretch the possibilities of shaping, seaming, handling and manipulating select fabrics to create innovative, wearable silhouettes and details. Students are encouraged to reimagine how to design garments by exploring inspirational patterning and draping techniques;
— How do you make a garment out of a single geometric shape?
— How can you design a garment that can be worn more than one way?
— How can you achieve shape, volume and texture using various fabric manipulation techniques?
Each student will create three unique garments that implement these innovative techniques.”

Look for this class again in January 2027. This September, PFI offers Zero Waste/Circular Design with instructor @tricialangman

Super grateful to be a dresser for the very lovely Kelsey during this year’s Lumin Essence Gala with @portlandfashioninstitute ! ✨

Being backstage always feels like chaos, but in all the chaos are all the best details. Getting to talk with all of the designers about their processes, and meeting the models was lovely.

Designers: @ Kelsey (1), @oh_avery_2006 (3), @lizarietz (4)
Models: @b.e.a.06 (1), @its.nicky_k & @lisaaaaa_lau (3)
