✨ 𝗪𝗢𝗢𝗥𝗗𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗙𝗘𝗘𝗦 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 | 𝗡𝗢𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗗! ✨️

This month, I was blessed to spend a whole week immersed in my first love, 𝙢𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙘! 🎶❤️

What a privilege to have served on the classical music adjudication panel alongside Maryke Lintvelt and Arthur Feder at this year's Toyota Stellenbosch Woordfees (@woordfees)!

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗿𝘁𝘆-𝘀𝗶𝘅 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 in the classical music category meant 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗰! ✨ From magnificent voices and instrumental performances to intimate musical moments and inspiring displays of artistry, it was a beautiful reminder of why we do what we do.

𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗪𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝘀! 👏

A special thank you to Dr Mareli Pretorius, convenor of the Woordtrofees adjudication panel and Chair of Stellenbosch University's Drama Department, for the invitation to be part of this wonderful celebration of the arts.

And to the organisers, artists, musicians, technical teams, volunteers and everyone who brought this year's festival to life, thank you!

Until next time, Woordfees! 🎭

🎬🌍 𝗕𝗘𝗬𝗢𝗡𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗧 | 𝗪𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗡 𝗦𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗔𝗙𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗔'𝗦 𝗦𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗡 𝗙𝗨𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘

Women are no longer simply asking for a seat at the table. 𝙒𝙚'𝙧𝙚 𝙗𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚, 𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙨!

I'm delighted to be joining an inspiring group of women at 𝗠𝗜𝗣 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮, part of 𝗙𝗔𝗠𝗘 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 (@fameweekafrica), for an important conversation about leadership, ownership and the future of Africa's screen industry.

As an actress, writer, director, producer and founding co-owner of @moze.films, I've experienced the creative industry from both sides of the camera. I believe deeply in the power of our stories, but also in the importance of building sustainable opportunities for the people who bring them to life.

Africa is rich in extraordinary talent and stories waiting to be told. How do we ensure that women have not only the creative freedom to tell those stories, but also access to the resources, investment and decision-making power to bring them to the screen?

I'm looking forward to exchanging ideas, sharing experiences and learning from the remarkable women joining this conversation.

A special project, a special cast, and such an honour to have been part of it. 🤍

Angel in the Rubble on @lifetimetv . ✨

An actor’s journey is made up of stories, the characters we become, the people we meet, and the moments that stay with us long after the cameras stop rolling.

Feeling grateful for this one. 🤍Nothing without God

Thank you to my agent for making this one possible. 🤍

𝗦𝗣𝗜𝗡𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗜𝗦 𝗕𝗔𝗖𝗞!

So excited to see the award-winning first season of 𝙎𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙨 returning to African screens - and to revisit my time as 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗮 in Season 1 too! ❤️‍🔥

What an incredible world this was to step into, alongside a phenomenal cast and crew, under the direction of Jaco Bouwer (@jacobouwer).

If you missed 𝙎𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙨 the first time around, now's your chance to step into its high-octane world of car spinning, ambition and survival - and to catch up before Season 2 arrives on 25 October. 🏁🔥

𝙎𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙨 follows Ethan (Cantona James @thee_cantonajames), a 17-year-old from the Cape Flats who is drawn into gang life while trying to support his younger brother. When he discovers the adrenaline-fuelled world of spinning, South Africa's unique motorsport culture, he sees a possible way out and a chance at a different future.

𝗗𝗥𝗜𝗘 𝗕𝗘𝗡𝗢𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗦.
𝗘𝗘𝗡 𝗕𝗘𝗦𝗢𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗘 𝗦𝗣𝗔𝗡! 💙❤️💛

What a beautiful way to bring our 𝘼𝙡 𝙬𝙖𝙩 𝙚𝙠 𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙩 Silwerskermfees journey towards its close.

I am deeply honoured to be nominated for Beste Aktrise in ’n Speelfilm | Best Actress in a Feature Film for 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗮 - and even happier to share this recognition with two people who made this little onscreen family so special:

✨ 𝗝𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗻 - nominated for Beste Akteur in ’n Speelfilm | Best Actor in a Feature Film

✨ 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝘃𝗮𝗻 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗵 - nominated for Beste Vroulike Byspeler in ’n Speelfilm | Best Supporting Actress in a Feature Film

𝗚𝗮𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗹. 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗮. 𝗢𝘂𝗺𝗮 𝗟𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗲.

From those first days on set, to watching this family come alive on the silver screen, to sharing the story with audiences at Silwerskermfees - and now to this.

Jonan and June, julle twee... what an absolute joy and privilege it has been to share this family, this story and this journey with you.

And to 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗺𝗮𝗿 and 𝗝𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗼𝗯𝘀 - thank you for trusting us with these people and their lives. It has been an absolute honour to work with two filmmakers who pour so much heart and humanity into the stories they tell.

To 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲 𝗱𝘂 𝗣𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀, @meriaproductions, and every person who poured their craft, care, time and talent into bringing Marita van der Vyver’s story to the screen - thank you.

This film has always felt bigger than any one performance, because it belongs to all the people who made it.

It is a story about grief and growing up, about family and forgiveness, about the people who hold us together when life changes everything.

And, at its heart, it is a love letter to Cape Town - to Huri ǂOaxa, Table Mountain, and the people she protects.

Whatever tonight brings, being recognised alongside such extraordinary talent already means more than I can say.

Congratulations to every nominee. Here’s to the stories, the storytellers and the people who keep bringing them to life. 🎬✨
