LAST SATURDAY RECAP: RENEGADE OPEN MIC WAS A HUGE SUCCESS 🎤🖤

Saturday night, Austin showed up. And wow.

Musicians, poets, storytellers, and listeners all came together to share their art, their hearts, their time, and their attention. We shared food. We shared space. We made memories.

In a world that feels more divided every day, simply gathering as a community is an act of rebellion. Being in a room together, making art together, paying attention to one another? That’s the most renegade thing we can do. 🤠

Thank you to our musicians who brought the songs. Thank you to our poets who brought the words. Thank you to the community members whose shares leaned storyteller and had us hanging on every word. And thank you to everyone who held space and listened, taking it all in. You made the night what it was.

A special thank you to @sean for bringing tea and sharing it with the community as an act of service. Warm cups, warm hearts. 🍵

See y’all out there. 🌙

🌅 This Sunset Stories was one of those that reminds us why we gather..

Thank you to every single person who came, listened, shared, sang, spoke, laughed, and simply showed up with an open heart. We truly couldn’t have imagined spending our sunset any other way.

This evening was powerful and moving beyond words.

And perfect in every magical sense of the word—not because it was polished, but because it was real.

Thank you for your presence.
Thank you for your authenticity.
Thank you for your truth.

Thank you for sharing your art—not as a single-sided performance, but as an offering. A discussion. A topic and texture we were all invited to reach out and feel with you. For trusting this little community with pieces of yourselves. And all of us, with you. Those moments of vulnerability are what make Sunset Stories what it is.

Whether you performed, listened quietly from a blanket, or touched the heart of someone sitting beside you by willingly gifting us your share-back reflections, you helped create something incredibly special.

We’re so grateful to each of you, and we can’t wait to gather again soon.

✨ We’ll update the “link-in-bio” Partiful url with our next Sunset Stories date as soon as it’s set. We hope to see you there..

Until the next one. 🤍

Honestly… going back through all this footage has been such a gift.

Every single one of you is such a gift.

Putting these little compilations together, stitching moments, pairing them with music — it feels like getting to step back into the evening in these tiny, beautiful ways.

Like little windows back into that time.

The laughter, the stillness, the in-between moments…
all the things you don’t even realize are being captured until you go back and watch it again.

There’s something really special about reliving it like this —
almost like a soft re-download of the energy we all shared.

And I won’t lie… I’ve been having way too much fun piecing these together.

More little glimpses coming soon 🤍

What stayed with us most from this weekend…
was how deeply we got to sit with one another’s art.

Not just witnessing it —
but opening it up together.
Turning it over.
Feeling into what it stirred in each of us.

There was something really powerful about slowing down enough to ask:
What was it like to write this?
What part of you does this come from?
What did you discover in the process?

And in doing that… we weren’t just seeing the art —
we were being invited into each other’s inner worlds.

The conversations that unfolded were incredibly profound.
We found ourselves speaking into things so many of us carry:

Self-doubt.
Self-criticism.
The tension between expression and judgment.
The courage it takes to share something real.

And also… the beauty of it all.

The power of having different creative modalities —
music, poetry, storytelling —
as a way to channel, to process, to make sense of what lives inside us.

Thank you to every single person who chose to be vulnerable.
Who let themselves be seen.
Who trusted the space — and each other — enough to go there.

This is what makes Sunset Stories what it is. 🤍

More moments like this to come… 🎞️✨

$We’re still buzzing from the magic of this weekend… ✨ What a gift it is to gather and witness one another’s art — but even more than that… to sink into the stories behind it. The why. The intention. The pieces of someone’s life (or inner psyche) that shape what they choose to share. And how their art and their truth surface. Thank you to everyone who came out — especially as this one became a celebration for Sheng’s birthday. 🎂 Which made the evening feel that much more full… And thank you for your willingness — to be seen, to be vulnerable, to tune into one another so deeply. That’s what makes this space what it is. Every Sunset Stories will be different. Because it’s you who shape it. The energy in the room, the stories shared, the way we listen — it all changes depending on who shows up… and how they show up. These clips are just a small glimpse into what was felt. A fraction of the connection, the laughter, the stillness, the truth that filled the space. We’re already so excited to share more — a few compilation clips coming soon 🎞️ Until then… just know how grateful we are for each of you. 🤍 — 🚨 NEXT SUNSET STORIES — Coming soon 👀 (Stay tuned!) 🤍 #AustinTexas #HumanConnection #LiveMusicAustin #ATXMusic #AustinEvents$
