Girls will be like “we really needed this!“ and it’s four days of dreamy summer bliss, festival fits, guitars, and tight jeans with @ohmrun513 at the @voacountrymusicfest 🎤✨What a fine time, it’s gonna take a month to wipe this smile off my face from this #nashville adjacent weekend love affair ❤️

Today marks 5 weeks post-op from open abdominal surgery to remove a massive tumor from my right ovary. Margins are clear from any malignancy; I am otherwise healthy and recovering quickly. Still processing and grieving what this has taken from me, both physically and emotionally, present and future, temporarily and permanently. It’s heavy. It still physically hurts. The nerve damage feels like the skin on my stomach is on fire. My scar is creeping me out. My body looks weird, and I spent almost a month walking like a creature. No running, no exercise. If you know me at all, you know I’m a resilient little sh*t, but this has proven quite difficult. Thank the universe for THE BEST little village of women who just love, give, and support so freely. I will forever love you for helping me, visiting me, feeding me, and loving me during my recovery.

I’m posting this not for sympathy but for the connection of the human experience and to reiterate how important preventative screenings are regardless of age or gender. I’m not kidding when I say I no idea this was present in my body, but luckily my PCP found it during a routine exam and acted quickly. While these kinds of tumors are usually benign and not a medical emergency, had it continued to have gone unaddressed, it would have certainly become one. I got lucky, that’s not lost on me.

Now for the good part! Today I’m celebrating the my first run back in 6 weeks. Two miles - slow, steady, not quite confident (not confident at all), but I did it. It was ugly and there were tears. But I did it. And you know what? F yeah.

Onward ❤️

A week late… but I need it here! It takes a TRIBE and FAMILY to run a marathon. I can’t thank these supportive humans enough for their kindness, encourage and love during the last 16 weeks of me training for and running this marathon! Thank you all!! 🫶 I couldn’t do it without you rooting me on!! 💪

Marathon #8 🏅 in the BOOKS! @runflyingpig is always one of my faves, and this was probably my all time fave 🐽!

I trained with new (& some old) friends @tristaterunningcompany @sipstridespill , and this crew was amazing (coach @coolbeansbecca 🫶)! Mara, Kristen and I ran the entire thing together (something I haven’t done since 22 miles in Chicago with @katherinekseward )

My fans in @adalineb_dancer @johnbrookscincy @jackbrooks_golf and the entire @doitforjackquehl team were awesome! Support on 🛴 miles 21-26 were a game changer!!

Cincy really came out strong 💪 to support everyone — 📣 So fun seeing so many special faces along the route @friedmann.beth @mollybz3 @caroline_colacarro @megansieberstacey @cameronsimoneau @tlfurbay and so, so many more! Loved helping all of the support from other running buddies I adore— Kate, @ohmrun513 @chizurutsukada @j.obert11 … we will get out there more this next season! (Miss y’all!)

Loved helping @doitforjackquehl spread the word of the dangers of fentanyl with a cheer spot, managed by @jackbrooks_golf 🫶 and over 100 of us running in the shirts on the course! 🏃🏼‍♀️

A great day to remember!
Goal: vertical completion!! 10:00 pace (after my back injury)

Pace was 10:07, and I finished in 4:25! With a smile and it absolutely dying! Kristen and Mara were my rocks in this one… and we had a great time! 💪🏅👏🏅

💙 and to my #T1D community, I kept my sugars in check the entire time!!! I’m sure it’s the meds (@tzield_teplizumab_mzwv ), diet and training, but I’m so happy to be in the place I am with this and my body still allowing me to accomplish dreams like this!!

Congrats to everyone who had such great races— it was another special @runflyingpig in Cincy! 🐷

Now onto @nycmarathon 11/1!!!
