Sunday at the @santafeintlfilmfest 🎥

I started with the awards ceremony at @ccasantafe wonderfully emceed by @hatface , followed by two short films I HIGHLY recommend!

The Oracle, directed by JJ Adler (19 minutes), a dark comedy involving a con artist, a psychiatrist & a mysterious message from beyond the grave. Then Acid City, directed by Jack Wedge & Will Freudenheim (13 minutes), an animated documentary using real NYC interviews to explore environmental change & the human experience. Just 32 minutes of completely different storytelling!

Next, a coffee chat with Catherine Hardwicke, the director behind Thirteen, Lords of Dogtown & Twilight! I loved hearing about her career, photographing her & seeing @ohmy.mia open the conversation at @cwbookstore

Then off to @skycinemas_santafe to introduce two films myself before getting to watch one with my friend @merso.monsoon

Paper Tiger, James Gray’s crime drama starring Adam Driver, Scarlett Johansson & Miles Teller. Set in 1980s New York, it follows two brothers whose pursuit of the American dream takes a dangerous turn. I love Adam Driver & appreciated the performances, but personally struggled with the pacing. I can’t love everything, y’all! I’ll always be honest about what I watch. That’s part of being a cinephile!

AND THEN THE CLOSING PARTY!!!!!!!!!

One final night celebrating the filmmakers, friendships & everyone who made this week possible.

My feet are exhausted, my camera roll is ridiculous & I have approximately a thousand things I still want to write about.

What a week, Santa Fe! So grateful we have this festival in our city!!!!

Las Cruces International Film Festival, that’s a wrap! 🎬 Thank you for showing us so much love, we are eternally grateful for this platform.

A special thank you to @ross.marks for leading and coordinating this festival and allowing us to be part of its programming along with all of the students that make it happen. You all are truly incredible!

We had so much fun connecting and celebrating film. We can’t wait to do it all again.

Brought back 2 Awards baaaabbbyyy!!! Man! I couldn’t be more proud, honored, and extremely grateful for the Awards and the @lciffest for having our film, and for the amazing Cast and Crew we had! Every single person brought something special to make this film. Thank you to @makaiofrazier @chilelinemedia for giving me the opportunity and chance! This project meant a lot to me. I was close to my grandpa who passed away before I started this “Acting” Journey of mine. But the story is deeper than that. Shows the beautiful culture we have in New Mexico, struggle of grief, finding peace in loss. BUT WE AINT DONE!!! We’ll be at the @taosff April 24th and at the @azfilmfestival April 25th!🎬🍿😎 if yall can make it!! Come on by!

The Way We Carry Water at Wildflower Playhouse 🌾🎞️ November-December 2025.

A recap from our November screenings in Taos filled with community, conversation, and the quiet power of shared stories.

From the glow of the screen to the voices in the room, these screenings reminded us why independent film matters — it creates space to gather, reflect, and feel together. Grateful for everyone who came out, supported, and carried this story with us. 2026 has been an amazing year for our production company and we are so grateful for everyone who has been a part of this journey.

Makaio has been working in the industry since 2021 where he started off as a set decorator for the film Frybread Face and Me. From there he worked on nearly 20 other film and tv productions over the following 2 years primarily in the AD department including credits in Rust, Oppenheimer, and American Primeval.

In 2022, he started his own production company Chile Line Media, named after the historic railroad that used to run through southern Colorado into northern New Mexico. Since then, he and his team have developed and completed two narrative shorts, a commercial project with the New Mexico Film Office, along with being contracted to assist other companies in their marketing and branding strategies.
