A while back we painted these florals during Ohn Mar’s @ohn_mar_win Patreon sketching sessions. I loved playing with contrast and even added some oil pastels on top of the watercolor! Fun fun!

There are some things I know for certain: Always throw spilled salt over your left shoulder, keep rosemary by your garden gate... and never miss an autumn evening to create.' ✨

A little practical magic on paper last night. Capturing the warm hues of plums, blackberries, and crab apples in loose watercolor and ink from a workshop with @ohn_mar_win .
Wishing you all a magical, cozy October day! 🔮☕"

Texture play on @ohn_mar_win Patreon from before. Used lots of acrylic markers, Inktense pencils and a corrector pen for pops of white! Love how free her style is!
Excuse my dirty desk and someone please remind me what I bought a white desk?!! 😂

I got extra credit today and made two! I was inspired by @ohn_mar_win and some of the simplification methods she is teaching right now. Here’s to crunchy leaves!! #curbsidecanvas #watercolorartist #freelittleartgallery #freelittleartgalleriesofinstagram

Less is definitely more. ✨ Working on the art of simplification in a recent Patreon session with @ohnmarwin.
Using watercolour to strip back the details, removing what competes, and keeping just enough to recognize the subject. There is so much beauty in just a few intentional strokes.

I would walk 500 miles (and it’s possible I did 😅) to…

paint en plein air with these lovelies in Scotland. Stay tuned for part two where I share what supplies I brought (as a serial overpacker) versus what I actually used.

Taking a little leaf (excuse the pun!) out of our friends over at @misc_adventures this weekend on our pre autumn Epping Forest walk, we took a closer look at some of the beech, chestnut and hornbeam forests’ favourite natural details, both beneath our feet and above our heads..

At this time of year, the landscape is already awash with magical little movements and changes, building towards the grand autumnal show in a few weeks’ time.

It’s these tiny details that make us love where we walk: the quiet connections, relationships and happenings going on all around us without us even noticing.

Until now, that is..
