WONDERMERK INSIGHTS - MaZed’s look and feel 🌊

Our animation supervisor, Josh shares, “To achieve MaZed’s unique hairstyle, we isolated it in a separate composition and adjusted the various render passes. By combining effects, we created an enchanting look. Moreover, by using the ambient occlusion pass, we added highlights to her hair.

Lastly, for the ethereal “ghost” effect, we layered the ambient occlusion and emit passes with a turbulence effect. The result? A captivating, magical appearance!”

WONDERMERK INSIGHTS - Njabulo’s skin tone 🌊

Our diligent intern, Stefan notes, “We kept our character’s appearance in mind, ensuring the environment didn’t overpower it. To achieve an underwater shot that complemented Njabulo’s skin tone, we used a pre-compose (pre-comp) technique on the character layer. This allowed us to apply effects and presets seamlessly and avoid washing out his skin tone. Track masking also highlighted Njabulo’s skin tone on specific body parts.

Dive into the magical world of Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire on Disney+ now!🔥
