Thank you @markhamdogalliance for a spooktacular Halloween Howl 5.0. Everyone wowed us with their costumes: so many creative, fun and adorable ones. I loved sniffing (and kissing) so many friends, getting pets and seeing everyone’s recaps of the fun. Happy countdown to Halloween, friends 🧡🎃💜

On Day 2 of the International Veterinary Social Work Summit in Toronto, @onehealthpartners @stash_mini.therapy.horse and @ohptherapydogs Brandy and Didi joined delegates for some very special moments of joy, comfort and connection. Their presence brought to life in a very palpable way the extraordinary beauty and power of human-animal bonds and the importance of nurturing the interconnected health and well-being of each other. Heartfelt thanks to staff and volunteers @onehealthpartners and @veterinarysocialwork and everyone who attended to make this wonderful embodiment of human and interspecies kinship, care and community possible.

Wonderful lunch @slabtowncider on the dog-friendly patio with @mylo.explores @ohpbrandy and @pascal_le_rascal_ohp ❤️🐾 I was so exhausted from dock diving that I almost couldn’t keep my eyes open. Mommy enjoyed her cider tasting flight & pizza and I loved the BARKuterie board she packed with extra treats from our friends. #uxbridge #cider #dogfriendly

Since September 2022 One Health Partners in collaborative partnership with Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital has been leading the development and provision of animal assisted therapy services at the hospital.

Together we are creating safe, structured opportunities for therapeutic human-animal interaction that bring joy to hospital life, comfort and connection to patients and caregivers and an expanded more inclusive world of possibilities for children living with disabilities and their families.

The program has evolved from the Covid-19 pandemic shutdown in 2020-2021 to a flourishing multifaceted service that involves over 20 @onehealthpartners therapy animal teams(dog, cat and equine) and includes weekly multi-team group therapeutic recreation visits, 1:1 visits, monthly staff health and wellness visits, school visits and special visits.

One Health Partners donates more than 300 hours annually to support the health and well-being of the community @hollandbloorview . We are honoured to contribute to such an extraordinary community of care and deeply grateful to our amazing therapy animal teams for all they do.

Last week was National Volunteer Appreciation Week and this week included National Therapy Animal Day. The reel accompanying this message represents only a small sample of One Health Partners many therapy animal teams and many thousand volunteer hours in community service. With huge debt of gratitude we would like to recognize and thank ALL the amazing therapy animal teams-human, canine, feline and equine- who make the work of One Health Partners possible. It is such a privilege, blessing and inspiration to be surrounded by so many talented, capable, caring people and beautiful animals. Thank you for the love, dedication, kinship, care and community you share. Together we bring ourselves and each other a little closer to recognizing through all our differences the common vulnerabilities of humankind, the universal desire for meaningful life and the life-world generative, transformative and healing powers of unconditional love.

Ps: Fun fact: The song Better Together accompanying this reel was produced as a tribute to and celebration of the human-animal bond. Lyrics were written by Heidi Libesman, founder of @onehealthpartners @ohptherapydogs . The music was recorded by @brandonunis , composed and master produced by @glennmorrisonofficial . The vocalists are @joshsahunta and @kathrynunfolding . 💕🐕🎶🎉

So honoured and delighted to once again be part of a beautiful Xenia Concert at the Meridian Arts Centre featuring the Trio Carnaval of pianists @chloewestonpianist and Dakota Scott-Digout and mime artist Trevor Copp. Together they performed a fabulous imaginative recreation of Saint Saen’s Carnival of the Animals. Prior to the performance there was an animal themed musical warm up led by music therapist Annie Bird and from beginning to end therapy dogs @ohpbrandy , @junotherapydog and @teacup_latte from @onehealthpartners @ohptherapydogs added another touch of comfort, joy and accessibility to the concert experience.

Thank you to the performing artists and everyone from @xeniaconcerts , @tolivegram and @onehealthpartners for making this fabulous combination of world class music and performing arts with thoughtful inclusive family, disability and neurodiversity friendly concert design possible. 🎶💕🐕🙏
